If you have a dry verm layer the tape is 100% useless.

Update:

Checked on the jars this afternoon, and one more jar looks like it has some kind of contamination.

I don't know how visible it is in that picture, but I'm talking about the greenish spot on the top right.

Still no signs of mycelium growth on the other 10 jars.

I followed this tek

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/15223324/fpart/1/vc/1

Since I was using a pot with tight fitting lid to sterilize, I could only fit 6 jars at a time so the first 6 jars were inoculated about 12 hours before the second six. I (stupidly) inoculated the first 6  without a still air box, but used one for the second set of jars. However, of the two jars that became contaminated in the last couple days, 1 of them was inoculated in the box, and the other was not.

Yup, steam sterilize with foil and then leave the jars in the pot with the lid closed until it's time to inoculate. I let them cool until they're cooled to room temperature, which was about 5-7 hours. Do you think it could be that they were still warm enough on the inside to kill spores that I injected?

No.  If it's room temperature on the outside the core will only be a few degrees warmer.  Jars have relatively little mass.

If you're curious next time you prepare some jars use a meat thermometer to check one and you will see how small the temperature fluctuation is through the jar mass.

That's bad advice to give to someone having germination issues.

Always start with the basics and then you can cut shit down. Do you think I wait 24 hours to inject my jars? No but would I suggest someone to do the same as I? No.

So it's been a little more than two weeks since inoculation. So far 2 jars have become contaminated, and not a single jar is showing any sign of mycelium growth. Should I just keep waiting? It seems weird that by now not even one jar would be showing signs of growth, which makes me think something is wrong. Any ideas?

Toss them and wait 24 hour cool down. Also, make sure you're only shooting .25 cc a hole. Are you making it per the video:

http://mushroomvideos.com/

Are you flaming your needle?

Alochol SANITIZES, flames STERILIZE. Sterilization means NO germs, mold can survive sanitation.
Don't wipe your needle with alcohol after flame sterilization:

wiping a needle with alcohol after flame sterilizing is like rubbing shit on your hands after you washed them and eating a burger.

Flame until the needle is red hot. It will turn black first (because you're using a lighter), then slowly turn red.

Flame sterilize between each JAR, not each inoculation hole. .25 cc a hole for 1cc total each BRF jar.
Grains is 1CC as well.

After flame sterilization gently push down on the plunger. It'll shoot out steam until a drop of liquid comes out. Let the drop gently fall and then push your needle through the hole, making sure to angle it TOWARDS THE GLASS. I look down and check to make sure my needle is against the glass sometimes but you can feel it.

If you push and it feels difficult and nothing's coming out gently pull your needle upward while shooting. BE CAREFUL, this will immediately loosen up your needle and if you're pushing too hard you'll shoot way too many CCs into a hole.

Anything in there you're not doing?

Maybe you got a contamed syringe. I would e-mail who you got it from and tell them you can't identify anything except mold under your microscope.

Remember, they will ignore your refund request if you mention cultivation. Spores are sold for microscopic use.
