yep it getting colder... but it takes atleast 5 6 consecutive hard frosts to stop the myceluim IME........... last pick for me was mid December last year..
was after 5 or 6 ground frosts in a row..... libs can manage temps all the way down to 2 - its several ground frosts that stop them and not always do we get a frost that many times in a row at the start of winter - all dependent on the location and cloud amount.......... but there is defo a brisk north easterly wind that dam cold.. also rain is forcasted pritty much all week in east Anglia and Midlands.. so lets get what we can - good luck boys n gals - last pick was Saturday - gunna make next trek at the weekend .. should get the same amount - will be well sorted if thats the case...start of November is defo the peak flush for me ..been great so far though - were u located again blazey?>
some places gunna get their first frost 2night apparently - just checked bbc weather....

North West, Greater Manchester
These swans are 25 days earlier than last year, so i reckon it'll end 10-20 days earlier :/ dunno if it's different in other areas but my spot was 2 degrees yesterday in the hills usually it would be around 8, might end early / late novemeber up here, we started properly in august though, had a single lib come up in late july but that was probably a one off, all my spots are microclimates i think

I picked my first frozen lib 3 weeks back ! pretty early morning frost, I agree that it usually takes a good few nights of solid frost to halt production though.

I went hunting today in the north east, I am so tired, I've been doing this for a year now, and not found any Libs I'm so knackered and close to giving up, has anyone got any tips? I found 5 different kinds of mushrooms but I don't think they were the ones so I chucked them

Found these today. I'm 90% sure there Libs this time. Couple have dried out n dropped their spores but this was all I could find after other people have had their season's pick already (yeah I know I'm slow. lol). Just needing to confirm that these are the real deal guys? Thanks in advance. xx Oh yeah, forgot to add...;found on a North facing hill/field behind golf course in the West of Scotland.

Well here in the south west, my parts at least have had so little rain in the last month or so. Literally maybe two days max in a month and really warm sunny day times it's not ideal...a few days ago a managed to pick15g dry from a new spot but yesterday went to the mendip at 250 m to a field which a week ago yielded around 7g dry and this time only yielded 24 mature libs, no young ones at all and the grass did feel pretty dry. It better bloody rain before it freezes, I've got 17g dry which just ain't gunna do

Yeah man, they're few and far between. Was hoping for enough for four people to have a heroic dose on a camping 'trip'.

It's very rare I wish for rain but this is the first year I've found spots that yield more than 8 libs and it just won't rain. When I went to my new spot and found 15-16g dry it was three days after rain and at least one bloke had picked the same from the area but until it rains again I'm not hopefull for many more, next weeks forecast like the last is all dry
