Got drenched whilst out searching today! Found naff all but these randoms. So many fields have so much promise but never deliver, is it worth going out tomorrow or leaving it a couple more days? I'm in the East Mids if that helps. Between Nott'm and Derby.

Which Parasola? Are you thinking conopilus? It's the only one I can think of that resembles the pics.

Hi, just registered to participate on this thread. Using the search function I found out that someone has had success near Brighton 18 days ago. Hopefully not too late for me. Been raining here the last two days and I think it's time for me to go out for a walk

They are around East Sussex, you might have some competition in that part of the world though... being a student town and all

I know a place with thousands of sheep and lots of grass, I doubt any students will know of it. I'm just concerned that someone might show up like a land owner and ask me to leave

Yeah Psathyrella conopilus/conopilea was the previous names, i was going to say Psathyrella sp. at first glance.

Always a worry, try carrying a camera, hand lens and notepad (as a wearer of spectacles this can make me look disarmingly nerdy) as well as a bag of edibles for cover. If you know some Latin names; throw them around a bit and watch for the glazed expressions. Obviously if you're jumping fences none of that matters; you're still gonna have to explain why you're there .

Funny, it looks nothing like the other Parasola, the caps are extremely striate usually. I'm assuming it's a DNA-based name change?

I will be on running gear and since I have the physique of a runner I might just be asked to go run somewhere else. Only once in my life I was caught on someone's property (field in the middle on nowhere), just running/passing through, and they gave me a really hard time.
And I don't like that place at all, there are literally thousands of sheep trying to run away from you, and the whole place is covered in their byproducts.

So it's been raining here (south west) since Monday, finally! I thought I might check my spot to see what's popped up as it's been nearly two weeks since I was there up at around 250m. I'm wondering if I should leave it for a day or two more for a potential large flush but as it's by a road used by many outdoor activity groups and individuals I don't want to be seen by too many and give away my spot, last time a people carrier drove past and a women shouted out "picking shrooms picking shrooms" I shook my head furiously to signify that they're not here but I doubt she believed me lol. I thought maybe a sunny weekend was not the best time t be out there. I know the morning due keeps things wet higher up so hopefully these last two days of rain have brought up some lovely a in larger numbers.... Need another lesson session, my last trip was awful! Never again will I take under 3g dry!

They're likely to be about, however the season is usually quite late in the midlands in my experience, or perhaps I just never find any until they're abundant. Found two yesterday but nothing proximal to them.

It will help to look within the next few days as it's been very wet in the last 2. Just keep looking. Their habitat is entirely predictable but whether or not they decide to grow there can be pretty random. And if it's close to population, and you have thought to look there then someone else probably has too and that will make things harder.

Found a new field in east midlands ilkeston, and there was a lot. Found 30 grams fresh and it hadn't even rained in a few days. Went back 2 days later with no rain still and another 10 grams. This rain will have brought out a shitload and cant wait to start hunting for them when it's a little drier.
