Was out picking and found this, an inside out liberty cap! And from above, it really does resemble a nipple, haha.

Hello, field botherers ! Though it was time to drop by and see what is going down in the fields. Seems things have kicked offf nicely by and large I will be going out in due course not quite as "mad for it" as I was but who can resist a little walk around a nice field to pluck a few magical mushrooms. It is part of the seasonal change.
Good luck and safe picking people, take it easy on dose if it is your first time. Enjoy the fruits of the fields.

Any first time hunters i am posting this to help you out!! Just last year i had never found any mushroom nor even tried however by the end of the season i managed to haul 400 in a spot near the center of Manchester.
The first piece of advice would be to plan before trying to hunt, you want to be searching a field inhabited by SHEEP (in my experience this is the most fruitful and easy to come by), next you want to ensure the field has short grass which will aid the finding of the shrooms.
Once you have done the preparation the next key moment is the finding of your first liberty cap to show your on the right track and from my experience this moment will motivate you to keep hunting for long amounts of time as you know you will be rewarded. In the field look for the shortest yet greenest parts of the grass this is where you are most likely to hit gold dust. My method is to look directly at my feet while squatting which will make the chance of seeing the shrooms much easier. Never look to far a field as it is much harder to spot them. Once you have found a shroom before you pick it obviously keep note of where it is but check the immediate area for a few minutes as onces you've spotted one your likely to find around 10 close by (within 1 meter radius of the first). Persistence is key as there has been countless times when i thought i wasnt going to find enough but then i kept trying and managed to find plenty. Make sure there is a fair amount of sheep shit spread around the field as this is always a good sign however the finding of shrooms doesn't directly correspond to this. When picked you can dry them with a household fan (this takes a few hours)
Trust me anyone can do it!!! Aslong as you have the right information and so have done the right research, along with a few hours of your time you'll be having fun in no time. Good luck!!

Hi everyone,
First time poster and forager here. Tried my luck in North Yorkshire today and picked a lot of...something? Could do with some help with an ID, if possible. I'm pretty sure that at least some of these are libs, but I'm struggling to do a positive ID on all of them. I've had to split them into three pictures, there were too many to fit in one.
Many thanks in advance :-D

Most of them are definitely libs my friend everyone in the last picture is however you have a few other in the first picture bottom slightly to the right with the dark straight stem defo isn't should be white stemmed and windy like the others. If they have that white to purple colour gradient they defo are aswell most are nearly all but I'd wait for any other comment before you do anything. One in the second picture in the middle aswell. Very good work my friend!!

Music to my ears, thanks for letting us know I can now rest my feet in anticipation for the weekend!& also I understand your very experienced and from what I've seen great at identifying libs, you couldn't go back a page and do me a quick ID if your not busy, it'd be really appreciated or anyone else for that matter!

Yeah all your mushrooms are good mate.
@MercifulPlatypus
remove these and any that look like them you have some more on other photos too
or... you can just leave them, they are inactive pans, but are edible.

notice how the cap has more of a 'matte' finish compared to the libs.

Thanks for the help @Hymemers & @Blazeyy. I did notice that those were a bit different from the others but, being new at this, I didn't want to leave them out in case my ID on the rest was completely off!
I'll be heading out on Friday to hopefully increase my haul!
