3 posts of a giant non lib.. what u mean how to do it? -pay attention to detail for one... im not exactly an experienced picker and i can tel that aint one ..
the stalks almost push their way through the cap creating a unique looking nipple.... the texture and tone is way off aswel
http://www.pilzepilze.de/pics/20051116/3696.jpg - that the tone and texture when dry
and on the ones that dont create a small nipple look like this ...
http://666kb.com/i/10rrxcf4j514w.JPG
notice the blackening around the edge , also one on left is what it looks like when wet the one next to it is dry
- They are the toughest little mushroom ive come across yet... sterdy stalks and strong gills!! the rest seem very very fragile compared to the lib.. again dont just go by that , but just saying to keep that in mind.. the species there u have stalk snaps very easy
dont give up just yet mate.......... research u should be doing btw lol... cheers

Its the same one yes.
And when it was picked fresh it was like a slimy darker colour type. It changed to whiter after a good 30 mins

I'm on the east coast in suffolk this week to brother. Here till Friday. Going to go and see if I can find some mushrooms myself while I'm here. Had good success around the same time last year in Norfolk so will see if I have any joy further south. Wish me luck

Bloody heck mate how do you tell the difference ?! the only difference I can spot is that the heads of Liberty seem to go down steeper and the curve slightly inwards as opposed to the others who are wide and dont curve back in.
It's easy when you know what to look for

I posted this originally in its own thread, however I think I might have a better chance being answered in the more active threads (like this one)
.....
I've recently become interested in hunting mushrooms at night, due to the amount of sheep fields that surround a farmers house.. I know for a fact there is mushrooms in the area and his fields seem like the perfect environment, however I'm too much of a pussy to blatantly walk into the field by day (in full vision of house) I was wondering if anybody has any tips for picking mushrooms by night, I was told at a festival that using a blacklight will illuminate the mushrooms as psilocybin glows in the dark (this could be utter bullshit told to me by a random hippy)
So does anybody who does go picking at night give me any tips? The fields in question are so easily accessible by me and I think under the cover of darkness I have virtually 0% chance of being seen
Or would I be better off going straight up to the farmer and asking him if I could pick mushrooms in his empty fields..?

I've hunted by Moonlight in Kirkwall on Orkney mainland but a blind person could have success up those parts lol. Though i always keep my eyes peeled on lawns and verges etc when walking the dogs , the white street lights are better than the orange ones , so Imagine heading into a stinking Big Cow Field after dark with a Halogen headlamp would yield Big time as it would really focus your attention with little distraction in corner of eye. Never seen Libs Glow before eating them . good luck.

i pick at night and love it.... has to be a nice starry night for me tho to really make me happy // grab a torch, bag of weed and a beer for the ride home - but jus coz night dont mean to say u can be louder and more careless - still have to be on the ball - hmm then again i found my spot in the day and came back to it at night like sum sly fox... u could ask - i think what gets them aggy is people with guns .. people with mushrooms shouldnt bother them much, also be on your own if ur gunna ask or just find a spot with no houses over looking... my torch is bright as foook i just keep it hit to the ground and turn off when i feel i should ..if somebody was to come out and ask what im doing il say the truth and play naive ignorance... dont kno nuthin about no black light thing though ... bright led , weed , scissors ,food, can of beer and a box to put them in is my inventory for a night time pick... i use the scissors for the libs by the way lol... feel wrong pullin em out despite being told it cool to do so
Bubbles - good luk m8 , where bouts u stayin at?
cheshire ranger - great way to rub in un successful peoples faces lol do u have to be in the pic?

Hi All,
Well the temp has dropped and it's been raining for most of the day in SW-Surrey now...
Anyone from Surrey? Hello! Are the environment conditions right yet?
Have been down to a spot which I found Libs over 10 years ago a few times, but nothing yet. No other mushrooms on this spot either although mushrooms in general are coming up. I've seen a few in the woods…
The grass was cut last week, maybe this will help feed the libs as it's now decaying?
It was pretty warm and dry over the weekend but we're due a few days rain now with dropped temps.
Cheers MM
