You're not alone. I've been searching specifically for lib caps this year across various cow/sheep pastures in my area and had absolutely no luck at all. Even my coworkers have said the same thing.

Found what I believe to be liberty caps today, found on sheep pasture/moorland at an elevation of 450m plus in the Yorkshire Dales. I am super amateur so would appreciate some advice.

Have you got a close up of the matte caps, i wanna see if they're matte or it's just the photo, because some of them are libs, but then on some the caps look like Panaeolus acuminatus but the stems are lib stems, that's really weird.
Try get a close up on the matte finish caps to see if it's just lighting, some of them ones with matte caps are blueing at the base too, maybe cinctulus :S

Here are some close ups with more natural light. I found many more like these, darker with a less pronounced nipple but with a stem the same length as those shown above. Thank you for your help!

I would say that you have 1 in the first photo 2 in the second and 3 in the third.

First find of the season so farm in south west, tried a new hilly area with deer scattered about. Only found 7 but will be going back after the next decent rainfall as it's been a bit dry the past few days.

ellooo - ok so just got back from another night time adventure pick , 8 mile bike ride to the location, from town to the good ol sticks with the stars above my head and the moon to my left, weed in my pocket and a beer in my bag - pulled in just over 180 libz - lastnights fog soaked the ground nicely!!! - considering avin a week with no rain and hot sun ,its not bad at all... will return thurs hopefully rain then it will fruit more ............ good luck people - my search still aint over
east cost Suffolk
Blazey - Yes mate , the beginning of creation remains a mystery, cheers for that link but I know it had something to do with fungi and the tree - at the beginning - you kno to pump this shit with air b4 anyone or anything was around... the underlyin entity of those two elements is a type of goddess / god - dmt/psilocybin shows u this
yeh guaranteed also without question there are sun like stars out there with habitable zones with a planet containing HHHUUUGEEEE species of fungi, trees etc.. all works in the same order judging by the star/suns size, age and power... a star is a life generator , galaxy holds it 2gether /// beyond that , lies the gods/goddess magnetizing it in motion - not your biblical god so let me jus make that clear... seeing is knowing

i would say they are in full force in every known and unknown habitat in the uk.. bristol huh , cool place to b, many of my fav artists have spawned there .. colin OOOD for one , Massive Attack for another!
heavy rain few week back started them off.... clear skies at night with lots n lots of ground dew and condensation has kept them generating - not in huge amounts but enough to be pleased with
btw mods.. why is the avatar auto crop playing up - i stil get a blank pic showing

Eyup people,
Been following this thread for a week now and got some great advice for hunting! Read the PDF that was linked and it was mega helpful, checked out Google Earth and seen some potential areas too!
I went out to a local golf course and some fields (I wasn't expecting much, got some stuff from near oak tress but not what I was after) but didn't have much look.
This is where I was looking anyway:

Is there anywhere anyone can suggest to look around Ilkeston? I don't mind a bit of a trek really. It'd be massively appreciated, 'specially cos of the rain today!

Hi I had a nice colourful dose on about 100 small ones picked from a school playing field yet struggled to find 100 in a perfect paddock. only difference i felt i found the first lot after the last rains maybe 10 days ago and the next lot 3 days ago , and funnily most of them where either tiny or else very dry. It has rained here tonight and this morning so gonna give the school ago. From your picture i do see some very promising fields further out from where your looking , try the local farm small holdings some friendly farmers will offer advice , look for horse or cow fields that are divided in 2 and check the side which isn't being grazed. Kirkwall on Orkney is the only place i know where they grow on every lawn in every garden , school , hospital everywhere. Never been Ilkston. Good luck though.

Cheers for the info buddy!
I think tomorrow morning I'm just gonna go for a drive down some country lanes and keep my eyes peeled for some potential areas.

Bloody heck mate how do you tell the difference ?! the only difference I can spot is that the heads of Liberty seem to go down steeper and the curve slightly inwards as opposed to the others who are wide and dont curve back in.
