Success? Christ I hope so, first time out and am now physically worn out.
This business with the detachable slimy cap was unknown to me at the time, and now they are too dry for that, I think. Found in a field with sheep. There were other mushrooms, but I ruled them out.

To me it looks like most of the good finds are still around 300m elevation...around here in the southwest it still seems to warm and dry at anything under 200m, does anyone know what temp range they prefer? I assume 17-11c is pushing it a bit. I found 3 last night (lol) cycling past my local country estate on my way home at 91m. It's a very public area full of golfers and dog walkers therefor never produces well but is an indicator for climate. I did come across a huge patch of field mushrooms though but had nothing to carry them in.. I can't believe the horror stories about weed and hash! Here in Bristol the most I've sold a q of high quality green for is 45 squid and an oz is 180 max. Hash is plentiful in many beautiful forms most of the time(not talking about soap!) but costs nearly as much as green, my advice is get a few plants on the go and never pay again hehe

Thats same temps that are here too atm and im finding them at no more than 50m. Only about max 50 In two hours for the whole field though. Yeah its insane isnt it, there is droughts very often here too at least once every one or two months and I could be waiting up to a week to get 2g for fifty....does my head in. Pollen is cheaper tho so usually get 6-7 g for 50 so thats what im smoking most the time now but its nice no way would I smoke that soap bar .gack. lol Id love to,did in the past but fuck that now Im too paranoid of getting caught tiz too easy here

That's very surprising.
The autumnal equinox today and had the first mushrooms of the season popping up in my garden, to me this signals i need to get out there asap and start picking liberty caps. Only found 5 last weekend, hopefully a few more to come soon...

So if my temps are nearly perfect it must be the lack of rain that's slowing things down (or my shit hunting) hardly had a days rain in the last week so the grounds only getting wet from a bit of morning dew and being dried out by the midday sun. I'm determined to get a good yield this year even if it nearly kills me, I need the spiritual healing! Back to the green, if I didn't produce my own I'd be screwed as the amount I smoke is totally unaffordable even at the prices here in the south. Both my girlfriend and I really rely on it for our sanity and to manage pain. Tell no one, get a good filter and use a small grow tent and there is really no way anyone would find out unless by chance...for me at least it's well worth the risk and worry

Went on a pretty fruitless hunt today but I did get a few different types of mushrooms and I'd love to know what they were if anyone knows!
These 3 look (to me) like little liberty caps with the nipple and wobbly stems. The caps got slightly squashed in the bag so they look a bit wider than they actually are.

I know these aren't anything I'm meant to be looking for but I was curious, anyone know what these are as there was hundreds!

And finally, this was the spot I was picking so even if I didn't get anything worthwhile, the view made up for it

Not posted much in this thread this year. Not really had the time. I did managed to get out last week end and the week end before for a couple of hours to see whats going on and the season has just started here in the West Midlands. The first flushes in the fields that i know produce had just stated on my first hunt 12th/09.
It looks as tho its going to be another good year. Some of the shroom's are sexy as fuck to. Some real pretty specimens this season
Here's a few pics -

Instead we came across these bad boys

And this random note haha, this had me in stitches!

Hey, were you returning to a previously successful location, or just trying your luck with a new area? Finding fresh amanitas proves, that there is enough moisture in the ground for the lib caps to grow. Think about it. Amanitas grow under the trees which means that they need even more rain than libs. Water needs to pass through a layer of leaves and other dry plant mass before reaching the mycelium.
