Guys are doing great
I have been finding Libs since early August but never more than a handful per trip.
We need rain here, morning dew seems to bring a handful out but the ground is still just too dry I've been thinking and we haven't had several days of rain for ages now.
And I've checked so many fields

Curse the (lack of) damn rain!
Every day this week I've checked the forecast and every day it has promised rain "tomorrow". Every day this forecast has been pushed back until today when the promise of "rain tomorrow" has finally been rescinded altogether.
In spite of it, I shall still be out hunting early tomorrow morning. It shall be a good walk at the least.

Magic-mack said: Another successful week in Wales, 600+ in the last 2 trips out. As some of you guys are saying, most of my spots have been chopped by the farmers in the last few weeks. (would be annoyed, but hey, they ARE their fields after all) but the libs are starting to bounce back now, and the shorter grass makes it a lot easier to spot them, so I don't mind. It also gave me a chance to break away from the usual spots and do a bit of exploring today, which turned out to be great as I've found my most picturesque hill yet, with the fattest libs I've ever seen! Silly me though, didn't get any photos and now that they're dry and shrivelled in a mason jar, they're not so impressive to look at. I even spotted my first fellow hunter in the wild the other day as I was returning to my car, we exchanged glances before he went back to peeking over the hedge to see if I'd missed any haha It may even be the first documented sighting of the elusive beast they call "monkeyjuice"... from what I gather from his photos, he and I are somewhat neighbours... small world. As always, happy hunting guys.
No way!? Were you in a red 4x4 per chance m8?
Afraid not (although a 4x4 would be handy for some of my spots), I drive a little silver number.
Would you be a white van man by any chance?

Sounds good to me mate, am based past Durham near Newcastle. Let's sort something out in pm's am sure I can travel and help out. I don't think he's being protective, just maybe panicked as I'm a noob? Hope that's it anyhow, you're right about the teaching.

Yeah, you're right would be helpful if I knew down to the nearest 5 miles at the moment. I see both sides of this to be honest.

Also fellow citizens I'm still confused about different direction of slopes I only normally pick north slopes local and doesn't seem to matter much at altitude tho in my experience in the subject all comments grateful

Here are a few on the left in my hand

Eeeeeew your shrroms are overgrown and unfresh. Reminds me of my first two seasons when I picked ALL OF LIBS until I gained quality awareness and stopped being greedy.

Hi please report on the situation in Peak District. Are you going to the dark or white peak area? I was meant to go there next Wednesday but today I fucking found out that I'm not going until the 4th of October! I am so so SO pissed off about this... I bought the tickets already.
By the way, I actually want to sell my megabus/megatrain tickets please let me know if anybody is interested? These tickets come in a form of a reference code from their website, they don't check passenger's names - at least on the buses they don't. This was the first time I bought a train ticket from them but I'm guessin g they will only check the ref too. Bus leaves London Vic on Wednesday 15:00 and the train from Sheffield leaves on Friday at 17:38 arrives at London Vic at 20:00

Any luck in Bedfordshire or surrounding counties yet!?
I checked my field a week or so ago after heavy rainfall but no joy. A few inactives knocking about, but the ground was still rather solid & dry beneath the wet folded grass.

Yes first libs of da season kick hard! Always a nice surprise! I know one local spot which has strong libs all season, but the first caps are just insane! They are very thin and small, yet 20 of them give a decent trip.

Hello there people's. First post ever on the site..been watching and reading for a couple years. I'm off into the mendip hills in the next few days as soon as it rains some more, I've been up there a couple times this week searching and have come home with eight little shrooms lol. Found the sheep, got the elevation of 250m but only eight hehe. I still haven't had a proper trip despite trying to find enough since I was about 16 (now 26) and I've got a genetic muscle issue which means walking many hours is tough and I can't do it often...anyone got any tips? Btw some of your finds are truly inspirational hehe

Nah m8 wasn't me, I really don't see many peeps where I go out. The 4x4 was the only person I've seen there in a vehicle, it was probably a farmer tbh.
I'm dead curious to know where you are hanging out now, hah. If you are in my area there is more than enough up there for two of us
Get some piccies up so I can take a look at your territory.

Wasss up peeps!!!
Glad to see soo many having strong starts to the season.
I've been contemplating having a 6.4 dried grams trip. I've had a 5g and 4.5 this year but this would be with the first flush of this season. From what I gather the first flush is potent...this excites me but equally it reminds me of Terence talking about taking 9g and having a seriously powerful experience, anyone have any thoughts around this?
Also I'm off to goa cream festival next weekend so guna explore Worcester (as close to wales as I'm likely to get!) Blazeyy your a legend btw aha
