Nice job Blazeyy
Went out again today for a few hours but nothing this time. Counted my earlier finds and there were 70 in total. Still better than a kick in the balls with a hobnail boot.

Thanks and Trypto i'm finding them in sheep pasture, short grass mostly in the sedge or random longer patches of grass about 7 inches high.
Found some fantastic spots so this will be a good season i think, early fruiting here in Bury.

They can grow on meadows without livestock - manure is not necessary for the growth of libs. The most fruitful habitats I've seen were all sheep or cow pastures though.

I use 2 main hills. One has cows the other has nothing but maybe some rabbits. Both would have similar amounts i'd say. It's mainly the right kinda undisturbed grasses your looking for. There was also a patch of long grass where I found 100's in a dense cluster but the week after the cows had lawnmowered the whole wee strip and ruined it. Cows in particular can muddy up a field pretty bad.

Same here, the shit is never usually far away. Cow shit, sheep shit, rabbit shit. I have found one or two on football fields or in public parks before, but never in clusters like I tend to find on farmland.

If you're stuck in cities then parks, lawns and sports fields can be great for a hundred or so, taking up golf or some out of season cricket isn't a bad idea

Mind you but be careful if you're hunting in golf courses. You don't want a ball hitting your head.
I tried one time - didn't find any - but when they started whizzing past my head I decided that it was perhaps not worth it in any case. Hunting among sheep is still a better option, I think.

Went to check my local field yesterday and I saw a good 20/30 small libs popping up, not big enough to pick because it would be a waste, but the field itself isn't high up, its also Just a very large playing field, theres never any animals on it either. Yet I have probably had over 300/400 off it in the past.. the season has definitely started here. We have had a lot a rain recently, temps haven't gone too high either. I'm in the NW of England

Hi guys. Just thought I would let everyone know I got about 60 from a field I was camping in yesterday. Was up near in The Yorkshire Dales. Was a really good surprise, was going to go on a walk to find them. First peg in the ground and there was the first one, right next to it.

Wow! Some nice finds for this early on in the season, wasn't expecting to be seeing any posts for a while yet. Must get my wellies on and get stuck in asap I suppose. 2015, the year of the Jedi Flip.

Had quite a bit of rain yesterday in Wales and this afternoon the sun came out so I decided to head up to my patch where things seem to be coming along nicely. I was only in the field for an hour and managed to find this tidy bunch (143) with some pretty large caps among the cache. There were more clusters this time round and I left many of the smaller heads to let them mature. I did quite a bit of tinkling to spread out the spores. Looks like it's going to be a bountiful season!

And a litte blue for Anglerfish
Edit----fixed pictures
Happy Hunting!

This year I must finally find some cyans! I never went for a cyan hunt but I am curious about their flavors...
