anyone had any luck in the west midlands yet? Me and my friends are going out on our first hunt this weekend as we live near a lot of pasture lands so we're just gonna follow the sheep and see what we can spot.

Hi all, just joined. I wanted to post my first find down south from 6th September. I found this Guy on his own after 20 minutes at one of my spots. I was pretty happy considering how early this is for my area. Anyone else in the North Wilts/South Glos area had any luck?
probably, not much to go off here, could be pan or could be a lib, too dry to tell, probably is though

I am not far from you. I found one in our area the other day but it has been quite dry. Best time last year in Wilts was around 20-25th October I found.

Thanks yes it was definitely a Lib. I found these spots last year in my first season. I found that once I picked my first Lib I never got the ID wrong again!

had a bit of rain this weekend, got a question! how quickly does everyone reckon the libs can grow? is it an overnight job or a day or two? wondered if anyone had exprience of seeing them pop up overnight or somin like that what sort of time do they take to fruit after sufficient rain i know its pretty quick but how quick/

Oh yes that's true... But I still make early season mistakes due to excitement

Give libs about 24-48h after heavy raining and good temps

The average is 30 hours, seen some up in less than 14 hours after rain though. They're all different n grow at different rates, the spot they're in seems to matter a lot too, one of my patches will flush consistently the next day after rain, others can take 2-3 days, seen some take about 3-4 and they ended up being pretty compact and heavy and/or large specimens.
