Hello everyone, first time posting but I've been using the forum for a while now, it literally has all the info and experience you could ever need, so I thought it was about time I joined.
I didn't want to come empty handed, so here's my first haul of 2015. Can't believe how early we've been getting them this year, it's still pretty sunny here so they seem to be getting dried out a bit quick, but there's plenty of rain still to come!

Nice one Bada Bing that's a great haul, there's lots of rain in the forecast so I'm sure there's lots more to come! Just need that day of Sun to dry em a bit and make the picking easier. Even so, think I'm not going to be able to stop myself from wackig the wellies on and getting out there later :P just thinking there's so many out there right now getting old and bug-eaten!

Cheers, I'm happy as soon as they start popping up, I was getting a bit worried when I saw people were finding them already and I wasn't. I only get to go at weekends so I'm always thinking of the poor libs getting old and being trampled on as well.
I've got a couple of shrooms I'm not sure about, am I ok to post them here or should I make an ID thread?

Either is ok. A dedicated thread might get more immediate attention though.

I'm very fortunate to live in the beautiful country known as Wales, we get some wicked seasons here! Peak District should be really good for them, similar environment and weather to where I am.
Thanks relic, I never count them anymore just like to know what they weigh when dry haha.
Ok so these are the few that I wasn't sure about. To be honest I think they're all libs, if I'm not sure about something I won't pick it, but these were all in with nice flushes of libs so I kind of assume they're the ugly ducklings of the bunch.
I find these quite a lot, I'm sure they're just libs which have gone flat not pointy.

Same with these, they just seem a bit rounded and don't curve in near the bottom of the cap.

These didn't have much of a nipple, and the one on the right has a really thick stalk more like a cube.

Psilocybe semilanceata can vary in appearance alot but their is also Psilocybe strictipes which are also similar looking. Maybe those are really chunky Libs but they could be something else

So, my prayers were answered today... The rain eased off after work and although the mushies were damp so a little more difficult to find, 4 hours carefully scanning the grass resulted in just over 1000 sweet semilanceata's

And here's the 550 I picked on the weekend all dried and stored ready for trippy times dried weight 15 grams

By the looks of the pictures I would say they were liberty caps I also find a lot like this in big patches of libs. Just to be sure I have a couple pictures of the look alikes which someone posted links to earlier or on a different thread, they don't look much like libs in the pics but like libs u get a lot of different shapes and sizes and they can catch u out sometimes.

I think it's mainly the colour that I notice the most, try to screenshot these so you can compare if u find a patch of uglies you're not sure of hope this helps

After 25 years the Shrooms are calling me again. I live on the Isle of Wight and unfortunately the two main picking grounds of my youth are now no more. The weather is perfect and all the signs are looking good, but where to look? If there are any other members on the Island who would be prepared to point me in the right direction, I would most appreciate it.

There has been some serious rain here in this part of the country in the last week which is sure to have moistened up the previously hard and dry ground (that brief rains did not effect). This will be great for all mushrooms.
