Why not just go in the day? The flashlight at night is just going to make you more conspicuous and is no substitute for good lighting.

that's true - I myself 2 love night time hunt asmuch as day.. - at night amongst the stars gives it the extra mystical twist... - I use a red light that has a zoomed lense so you can alter the range and also the brightness - if its pointing down ya cant see me....... for shit - don't have time durin the week in the day - only as Saturday.. - cant wait that long other wise most go to waste - so ya do what ya can I spose - we only get 3 odd months to get as much as pos - whilst taking care of how you do it - timing is important also..
turns out lovelibz - 30 medium bone dry libs is around 1g - hada chance to borrow some scales as was interested in how much I had... - turns out I have around 160g cracker dry... experience once maybe twice a month should make em last thru spring and end of the summer... - still got atleast a month to go though - this rain we have had is sure to bring everyone rewards! ... as I sed last pick last year was 17 th December I think.. - they were frozen - snapping them by the stems - that was the end of last year for me..
suicidal u say ? well these should bring some form of magic back into your life... - healing tools ime and opinion - chin up geeza

Yeah, there is something special about night hunting. I wrote a poem about hunting Armillaria at night once.

really? - ah nice one for the amillaria id btw!
one mans journey into the alone -as quoted by kilindi - or what ever his name is... your natural animal instincts kick in when you know you gotta be carful likea sly fox at night - psilocybin has made music production a lot more deep 4 sure also art becomes astonishingly pixel perfect the dots connect mathematically perfect! even though amillaria aint active - is edible though right? is it nice
- wheres this poem @

Thanks for the numbers on 1g dry i'll get counting i think and see how much i got...
Well jealous of the 160g! Nicely collected, as you can see from my join date I was late this year but I like mycology anyway so seeing autumn/winter mushrooms will be cool.
They are very magical but I realised I hadn't felt happy properly for 10 fucking years. Crazy shit but as I said they had a mood stabilising effect. Useful with my mental health lol, thanks for the support man

if i need more i'll probably grow tbh worn out this season had ounces n ounces dry n its proper coming to a close in the north west, with all this rain last month there would have been bucket loads then agen the first lib did come up late july here n the first proper flush mid august? i think. so had a crackin season n had some nice trades for weed n that.
just wanted to pick enough for a trip for myself, anddd mission accomplished!
gonna get into the cubensis game this year n maybe some more difficult ones, already learned shit tons about hunting different species n stuff in just 1 year literally put all my free time into it last year, 2014 was my first season which people was surprised at due to my knowledge, it's the shrooms, man! so this year i'm gonna focus on the cultivation side.

I'll do what I can but I can't drive yet (temporary medical) so at the moment all my picks have been someone nice enough to take me with them. Honestly this inspiration is good stuff though man and I'm gonna get on google maps and see if there's any spots in walking distance
There's a perfect spot I found near ish to me....except its in the garden of some big farmhouse which has full view over it and only way in would be polevaulting across a bloody canal bet they know exactly what they're doing!
In my experiences its a bit easier to spot good spots in real life but then again I'm fairly new so..

You'd need a microscope to tell (strictipes have smaller spores), but my guess would be semilanceata. They have a very variable appearance. Also, it is my understanding that there is some doubt about whether strictipes is in fact a separate species from semilanceata.
Check out Workman's post on some section semilanceata specimens.

blazey - yeh I wanna get into cultivation myself - finding mushrooms has also made me wanna invest in a metal detector!! did you have a good experience geeza ?
lovelibz- nice one - under cover mission
just realized im being ignored by Charlesbruce for some reason

Tried the potential spots within walking distance and had no luck. Didn't see much fungi full stop apart from a single semiglobata and some pans in a horse pasture. Carried on to some sheep field and it was wrong kind of grass :/
I got some exercise though and found some interesting species in the woods as well so meh, not all bad.

Thanks for the link! removed the part of the stem that had it on so nothing for me to be worried about (fingers crossed)
Saw these today.
