Went out again last Friday in east lancs. It was a pretty wet miserable day tbh, I cycled out for a few miles starting at about 13.00 and slowly worked my way back, searching as I went. Found very few libs, was feeling a bit despondant, and then right at the end of the day I found this place which seemed to be fruiting well:

As you can see it was already going dark, so I didn't have too much time to search, but I did collect a few:

I'll be returning tomorrow to see how it's doing. It looks like it's going to be another very rainy day, but fortune favours the brave :-)

Just had my first hunt after reading through a bunch of the thread to find locations. Went to a cow field which had a bunch of varieties, picked these few and left as I'm not as confident as I thought with ID'ing. Any advice on these guys would be great. Also made the mistake of putting some in my pocket which turned to mush before getting home.

Like the autumn colours in the first pic, looks like good habitat. Been really wet and damp here too.

**UK Liberty Cap Trip Report**
I know trip reports are supposed to go in the other section of the forum, but as we're all doing the same type of hunt (and it's only a short report), thought it might be OK to post here....
So on Saturday night I decided to try out some of the dried libs I'd collected. I ground up about 1.1gs, soaked them in lemon juice for 30 mins, added some honey and hot water, stirred them for a bit, and - with some trepidation as I haven't done this for a looooong time - knocked em back (at 19.45 exactly).
It tasted a bit rank, but not that bad really. First effects were felt after about 40 minutes (20:25). Some disturbance in thought pattern mostly as well as a little anxiety. At that point I hopped on my bike and went for a ride as I didn't want to be tripping in the house that night.
As the trip started to come on I felt more and more of a body high - lots of energy and that feeling of 'coming up'. Waves of this feeling passed over me as I was cycling around. I started to get some visual disturbances at about 1hr 30 in (21:15 ish). Patterns on brickwork looked 3-D even though they were flat, and things looked hyper real (especially neon lights etc) and pin point sharp. Overall though the visual were very light and not that intense.
Things started to settle down a bit after about 3.5 hours (23.15), so I started to cycle back and got home at about 23.45. I did a quick pupil check and could see some dilation, but not much. I then vaped some nice weed in my trusty arizer solo, which (in combination with the shrooms) left me pretty smashed to be fair. By about 2am it was all pretty much over, so I went to bed.
I enjoyed the trip alot, but it wasn't that strong really. It was only a starter dosage to get my feet wet, but I expected to be a little more hammered than I was. Next time I'm going to up the dosage to 2.5gs dry, I think that will get me where I want to go :-)

Yes, it was a beautiful sunset throwing golden light everywhere, it was really lovely.
It is great habitat round here for libs, much like Wales I imagine! I haven't come across too many people picking though, but I do tend to go at odd times so maybe I'm just unlucky. Would be nice to bump into more fellow collectors, if only for a chat.

Had a similar light on last hunt on top of nearby mountain, with the sun setting and fog rolling across the valley it looked rather spectacular.
Yes loads of good lib areas here, I'm in walking distance of mountains with miles of sheep filled prime lib habitat, pretty lucky really. The other day I saw two kids suspiciously walking around a field occasionally stopping to rummage amongst the grass... the first time I've ever seen anyone else tbh. Was going to go for a little hunt today but surprise surprise it's pouring again. Looks like heavy rain every day for most of the next week or so.

Yes here too. I'm going to brave it tomorrow though, no choice, it's my only free day unfortunately.

I got told by my occasional picking partner that when I'm really focused on scanning the ground for libs I look like a crane (bird) bent over looking for fish
It's why I stay away from areas where other people could be watching. I like the peace/serenity of the habitats I go to though so all's well

Will this rain and gloom ever end? Not seen the sun for about a week, the lack of light is depressing me tbh. I love the rain and so do the libs, but one dry bright day to help bring them out and to take some photos would be great. They're much easier to find when dry too. Forecast here is for more rain everyday for the next week.

But rain and gloom are liberty cap weather. Embrace it.

yeh im also sure it fucks the network beneath,,,why I don't - I even take scissors sometimes - a lot faster - when I do rip a lib accidently I get a bad feeling and guilt - the fact the network could be ancient and needs careful approach - not only that it uses more mineral's than it needs to repairing the colonized links that been severed ..
yeh I had to cancel yesterday due to the rain - more to come for us 2morra morning all the way thru till around 2 in the afternoon - a repeat of today basically... more bigger flushes to come due to it so look on the bright side .. """Met Office: UK Experienced Its Wettest Winter in 105 Years, New Study Finds The study by the U.K.’s national weather service indicated that climate change caused the nation to experience its most extreme rainfall since 1910 in December 2013 and January 2014.""""" - as quoted by met
loving the megaliths amongst the libs m8 - asif... - those ancients magic tools with out a doubt
ava good weekend everyone - anyone on xbox live ? lol rain and gloom brings the console out

Wow .. Fair play brotha. That is definitely the biggest dry haul I have ever seen posted here since joining.
I managed to get out for a couple of hours to hunt last Sunday. My spots are still fruiting well. I picked up around 150 libs and some Panaeolus cinctulus. The field I got them from, which is also one of my lib spots, has had nothing but sheep grazing it for years, but this season it's full of cows and the cincts were growing all over the place straight from the cow shit. They must have eaten the spores because the amount that are growing there is insane. The last couple of seasons there's been non. I'm going back this Sunday to pick more because most were pins.
