It appears I find them quite often then! I think perhaps I am skeptical of them being legit in dry conditions.

I tried searching for a Liberty Cap hunting/identification guide which is here on shroomery somewhere. I couldn't find it. Anyone cares to help me? I want to link it to a newbie.

The scene in the realm of idyllic sublimity. A few finds since late August, incredibly, until a week ago. Raindancing just now.

There are also some vastly more in depth guides that have been posted. There was the Nordic one posted in this thread recently too, but I've not viewed that yet because I've not been able to open it (need to install acrobat evidently)

Here's a couple of macro shots of the gills of the last big one (99.99% sure it's not psychoactive but for identification purposes:

Thank you kindly for taking a look. I'll skip the cowshit mushrooms then aha, might take a few pics. Can libs have red/brown stems then? Some of these look very close cap wise, and I'd hate to chuck them if they might be.

Got another nice haul this afternoon, and picked two I wasn't sure of. The bigger one reminded me of those really wide libs I've seen on here. Can someone ID? I'd say the stem is straighter and tougher, but could be due to size? Apologies if the photos uploaded funny, I'm on my phone.

Possible stroph semiglobata? The one on the left anyway.

That's adorable! How was its body language near you? Last time I went near cattle I got pretty much chased by overexcited bullocks
My finds today

Hi all, I'm in Cumbria... new to the boards, looking for someone to team up with... I have locations I am willing to share in return for transport, as I unfortunately don't drive.
Have had 2 bumper picks here as well as quite a few fruitful if not bumper picks. Think I have found a field that NOBODY else knows about, it was like the promised land... sticking up out of the grass EVERYWHERE!! some absolute giants too. I am starting to get a bit panicky, season is almost over, although I was finding them here well into November last year... but I am unable to get out there
Looking forward to getting involved on the boards

Appears I've been finding them everywhere then, for more than just this season!
Liberty caps seem to have a great deal.of variation, has this been documented anywhere?

This amount of variation is the same and normal for all mushroom species. The key features remain the same. It's just slight morphological differences.
