**The Official UK Liberty Cap Mushroom Season 2015** * 3
    #22003892 - 07/27/15 10:56 AM (8 years, 6 months ago)

And we're off!...

High up on a hill in Mid Wales, this nice little family of shrooms were nesstled in a field full of shoulder-high thistles and sedge, surrounded by sheep shit.

I might have to go back later in the week because the weather was horrendous and I wasn't dressed for it.

Happy hunting!

Nice find!

I just visited the UK this weekend and took the train through the Peak District. Looking
at all that libery cap habitat made me drool and want to get off! I think the UK must have
the most massive habitat for libs on the globe.

Are you sure they were high up on a hill? They appear to be on a cliff.

Cheers. I had a look on the OS map, this hill is almost 500 metres above sea level (1600ft).

Peak District is a beautiful part of the country. We are pretty spoilt in the UK to be honest. Where I live in Wales there are loads of places to find mushies, it is very rural with hills everywhere and many wide expanses of farm land. You hardly ever see the farmers round here so you can just wander wherever you please.

I give you the choice of 2 pills.

With each containing one of the following:
Cyanide... Psilocin... Would you take the risk?
Didn't think so.

This is why Positive Identification prior to consumption is important.

Amazed to find these this evening, did nt realise they could come up in July! Most of them in one west facing field at 300masl. It has been Autumnal for the past few weeks here, very cool, often cloudy and damp.

Just seemed weird finding them all with the Foxgloves out, Swifts still here and still sneezing from hayfever:confused:

Gonna roll some dooby doo's n have another scan after all that rain, not got enough for a trip yet.

Tempted me with that little haul, probably gonna spend more time in the hills than on my computer this entire season.

My climate is nearly identical to Wales.

^ Yes!

Where abouts on the continent did you find them (roughly), high in the hills?
