Reishi Spores

I am looking for some reishi spores. I have only raised cubes til now. I want to move on to something that might directly address certain physical conditions already being gone through or which might be lurking down the road. I wonder if anyone would be willing to swap a reishi print--is that how reishi spores are traded?. Right now I don't have any prints, but I am developing a monotub of PE cubes from which I will make prints and gladly repay the loan.Or, I could purchase the donor a month's supporter's account if that is prefered over the cube exchange. Please PM me if willing to deal.

So, there are three ways to go. I can get loose spores, a syringe, or myceliated dowels. Which would be the best way to go? I don't want to spawn to a log. I will probably go from rye berries to some kind of wood medium.

Get a culture syringe. Most Ganoderma species spores are wicked hard to germinate. And they certainly don't behave like a cube syringe. But liquid culture will go well.

Would mesquite pellets serve as a growing medium?

Yes it would. But thats a bit exotic. Around my way that would cost about $20 for a 20 lb bag. That may swell up to about 2 cu ft. while the same 2 cu ft bag of finely shredded hardwood mulch costs <$3.
There is the little matter of availability. What is your source for this shredded hardwood. I would certainly rather use that than pellets. Do you get it locally? Online? Are you talking about some kind of mulch? What I have found so far in that medium is just a bunch of differently dyed bark of some generic type.

Thanks. I have not tried Lowes yet. Menard's has Hickory pellets. Farm and Fleet has mesquite pellets.I will gives Lowes a try. There is a fairly wide range of products they can stock, but among those product idividual stores pick and choose according to local demand. There may be a guy who comes into a store and keeps asking for such and such a product and finally the store makes said product part of its regular inventory. I'll have to go to Lowes and lean on them if they don't stock it, lean on them until they do.

Thanks. Conks or bust is my new motto!

Went to Lowes this morning. found something called Pro Line Black forest Fine Textured Mulch. 3 bucks for 1.5 cubic feet. This is what I will use for my reishi attempt. I will inoculate jars of ry berries. I will sterilize the mulch either in jars or maybe in bags. Never used bags before.
We shall see.
