UK Woodland ID Request...

Hi,
Had an interesting day out on the moors (where the dog trod on an adder), then in the forest (where the dog disturbed a hornets nest followed by a few bites and comedic evacuation of the area by all present) and while in the forest, I came across these. Initially thought that maybe they were Amanita Muscaria, but the lack of a volva and any white flecks on the cap made me doubtful.

Species? I think they maybe Russala emetica, but would like confirmation.
Habitat: Coniferous woodland floor, growing out of the pine bed on some rotten branches.
Gills: White, brittle and I think these were free.
Stem: White and fibrous, with some pink in places.
Cap: Cherry red, slightly concave on the mature specimen
Odour: Pleasant mushroom smell, shame they aren't edible
Bruising: Not sure if the pink was a result of bruising, but none really noticeable.
General location: NE England
-------------------- Cheers, T

I understand that it's quite hard to identify a Russula to species using the macroscopic features alone. Perhaps someone else here knows them well enough to do it, though.

Thanks, I had read that too. I was hoping I might get a more specific identification from the habitat. I think I can rule out nobilis and rosea with a reasonable degree of certainty because they are not common to pine forest floors.
Being very naive when it comes to fungi, I am seeking some wisdom from others here to help with on path to greater knowledge
