Peyote was a lot different than san pedro for me. They definitely shared a lot of the same characteristics, but were two totally different experiences altogether, as far a 'quality' of the experiences.

I did mescaline once and it reminded me of acid. A friend of mine took peyote and he said that it reminded him of jimson weed but funner. I'm guessing peyote has a few extra alkaloids that put it in another ball park.

That's what he said, not me. I've never tried peyote, so I don't know.

I just made a tea out of about a foot or so. Despined, chopped and quartered, put in blender with equal parts water, blended, boiled down to wet sludge, fabric strained, and jarred. Since I'm not doing it now, I froze it but with a chunk of ginger. Then, when I defrost it I'd imagine the ginger would leech into the brew and mask the taste and perhaps help with potential nausea. I'll fast first but its presence can't hurt. Tell me if this proves useful. It'd be my first try but I dabbed it on my tongue and boy is that gross. So I think its good.
I think peyote is said to be the better alternative because the buttons store more mescaline. However, they're extinct so pedro is said to be the better alternative.

Peyote is not extinct, but it can be rare. And mescaline is not related to scopalimine(the active ingredient in Jimsom Weed).

Peyote is not extinct as Achilita said, but it has been hunted so much that it is endangered, people need to stop over harvesting buttons.
Anyway, mesc probably my fave psy, I love the way it makes my whole being feel, and the visuals always take a "Latin Vibe" for me.

Higher mescaline %. Also each kind of cactus contains other alkaloids that contribute to the experience in their own unique way. Just as bridgesii is different from San Pedro, I imagine peyote would even be that much different as it contains other alkaloids. Plus there's just a whole psychological mystique built around peyote.

Nobody said they were related.
Also you you misspelled scopolamine.

I thought I remember a thread that said peyote has like 52 alkaloids in it and San Pedro has 6, but I can't find the thread and couldn't find it on Google.
I'm never boiling that shit again I want to try peyote or Mescaline hcl.

It also said bridgesii has 13 if I remember correctly.
Mescaline was probably my favorite drug as far as the experience, but the taste and process of preparing it make it not worth it. I couldn't drink another cup of that if I tried. The tar balls were terrible for nausea.

Ok extinct was the wrong term. I meant endangered.

The alkaloid content and effects of said alkaloids is still very poorly understood. I've seen test results that vary WILDLY and really there is very little understanding of what roles the different alkaloids play in the experience.
It kinda cracks me up the big holy mystique that surrounds peyote. Tell someone about San Pedro and people just aren't usually even interested in hearing about it. LOL.

Yea a friend asked me about it once and I told him there's another cactus (sp) that's almost exactly like peyote, but he kinda just nodded his head mid sentence like "yea.. I wanna try peyote"

Peyote has such a reputation as being super sacred and is ALWAYS talked about respectfully. I'd love to try peyote.
