Gymnopilus luteofolius? Please help ID.
    #21997225 - 07/25/15 08:56 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

Habitat:
Seattle, WA. Wood chips, maple trees, ivy. Several other deciduous trees I did not id. Sea level. It has been in mid 80's for a week or so. Last two days partly rainy and overcast. Mushrooms appear to be older than this last rain. Maybe a week? I only say this because the are all dried out.

Gills:
Between cinnamon and rust colored. Adnate to slightly decurrent attachment. Pics show gills well.
Stem:
6-8cm. White, beige, black in places appearing bruised. Cinnamon where spores deposited. Hollow
Striations running down stem, or wrinkles, lines. Dried
Cap:
Red, gold black. Warped, wrinkled, upturned on most specimens. Dried

Spore print color:
I couldn't print them, too dry. Natural prints, on stem, look rust brown.

Bruising:
Black spots all over, blue in the right light. Some mushrooms all black.

Other information:
They didn't smell like mushrooms. The smell made me hungry. I can't think of a way to describe it.
Area gets a lot of vehicle exhaust, and road dust. I wouldn't eat 'em if they were king boletes.
