This thread is made for all the juicers. Share your favorite recepies, tips and tricks.
I just bought a Cuisinart juicer at a yard sell for $20 and when I looked on Amazon it was like $140 so I'm stoked!
Let's share our thoughts!

Nutribullet is the hands down best juicer/extractor/blender whatever you wanna call it. Blends ANYTHING you put in, even nuts and other tough/hard stuff with ease.

Care to share some of your recepies? I guess the only reason I'd want a juicer is to separate the pulp and husk away from veggies/fruit

I can't say my recipes taste the best. I just throw in the healthiest foods possible. Example:
20g whey protein 50g almonds 50g hemp seeds 50g blueberries 50g strawberries 50g spinach 1 banana some water tbsp of coconut oil
It varies on what I feel like but you get the jest.
I'll drink on it slowly, usually takes 30 minutes to consume it all or sometimes even just down it quickly.
Fuck blenders and juicers, you waste so much the fiber and stuff. As weird as it sounds, Nutribullet is considered an extractor, but it doesn't throw out or waste anything, while a juicer or blender wastes and discards the fiber and other shit, very stupid in my opinion.

LOL, I thought this thread was referring to "juicers" as people that did steroids.
Anyways, I love to make fresh juices at home and have around 5 go to recipes that I really enjoy.
I'll just post my favorite to start:
4 Oranges 2 carrots 1 mango 1 banana
The remainder is optional but I find that it doesn't add much taste but really adds great nutrients:
A handful of baby spinach (or kale) any leafy green veggie will do 2 small slivers of fresh ginger or one clove of garlic 1 dash of tamarind (really great for your immune system as is the garlic or ginger)
So, basically with this juice you're getting your daily dose of Vitamin C, Potassium and fiber (among many others I don't know specifically about).
I usually add a couple tablespoons of sugar, but obviously you don't need that if you want it to be super healthy or just don't do sugar..
And I'll also make this recipe sometimes, pour it into a blender, add 4-5 ice cubes along with 25-30 grams of isolated whey protein (unflavored) and turn it into a recovery protein drink for post workout.
I would love to read some of your recipes, OP. Cheers.

Why would you in crappy sugar when you get all the carbs/sugar you need from the fruit/veg?

I know there's a ton of natural sugars in fruits but I just think it makes it taste insanely better with refined sugar. I'll use 2 TB's of honey instead sometimes, but honey is expensive.
So, to answer your question; because it isn't sweet enough for my palate.

That's cool guys. Lol @ Asante, you cutting bro? I used T-bol before, but I digres.
Here's the first recipe I used. Pretty basic as my palate has not yet adjusted to a majority vegetable over fruit ratio.
-2 apples -1 orange -couple celery stalks -thumb of ginger root -1 lemon! (This gives it a REAL nice kick)
I'd really like to try beets as I hear they are great but the thought of how they taste is discouraging.

I don't know why so many people dislike beets. I think they are one of the best root vegetables the world has to offer.
I've never tried them as a juice but I do a 24 hour pickling on them and they come out super sweet and tangy. Just outta this world!

I love beet juice in a juice blend. Super sweet and earthy.
Also San Pedro cactus.

I gave my juicer away.
A blender is much more useful than a juicer, juicers tend to remove the pulp/fiber and that often contains halfg or most of the goodies.

hmmm i've got a ninja blender that has a single serving attachment. I've heard the two are comparable, and I really don't want to pay 99 dollars for essentially the same thing....but everytime I see an infomercial for it I want it.
on another note, I also have an old juicer(think it's cuisineart), but I'm not sure if all the parts are in one place. That thing was awesome for a while, but it's so fucking hard to clean up and I'm so lazy.
Anyway, my favorite juice recipe:
-1 beet -1 green apple -1 tbsp ginger(or more if you like a lot of kick) -2 carrots -2 celery stalks.
surprisingly tasty.
If I go back to juicing, I'm wary about drinking a shitload of sugar - I know it's natural and from fruit, but it's still not so great when it's in excess. I think balance is the name of the game, you juice vegetables that go well together and then add something like a green apple and carrots to sweeten it.
I love juicing kale and other greens and making avocado smoothies, though it takes some playing around to make it tasty(I've added raw cacao powder, fruits, yogurt, coconut oil, etc). The downside(or upside) is that they pack a lot of calories so it's no bueno unless you're looking for something-post workout or want to replace a meal.

Absolutely. I make high calorie juices/smoothies for breakfast quite often when I'm in a rush to leave home. I eat as many calories as possible, though. I'm way too active constantly to ingest anything less than 2500 calories a day.
