They normally don't' fully colonize the whole substrate in those jars.
Don't cut them in half.

Really? So at some point will the growth slow to a crawl and I'll end up brushing off the excess substrate?

It may colonize completely or stall out, depending on the strength of the mycelium. What tek did you follow that told you to use those jars?

eh i would be careful. most the time that I make my teas non of these things are possible, and its pretty fucken scary. But part of it. I can't smoke weed, but a little mushroom tea and I can be social able as hell. Little more and I'm leaving to be on my own, with complete loss of self.
Also, cultivation related, I'm really happy that you decided to go the DIY route. It is very rewarding to take the fruits of your labor, and seems more personal to me now. dk

Yesterday I got a oz of Bubble-Gum. Its a extremely fresh and powerful hybrid strain. Surprisingly it tastes like bubble gum...I don't understand...
I was shocked they had a few seeds in the buds. I have 7 in a bag with a moist paper towel...possibly the start of another magical journey...? I'll keep you fine folks posted.

What? Lol, I can drive on shrooms. Not that I would ever recommend this but you're definitely fine to go to the bathroom, eat, make food and walk around. I trip and go to the park. No idea what you're eating. Native Americans used to eat them and dance around a fire.
You'll be fine OP.

Even in my documented 9.5g trip I could walk around just fine. It was when I stopped that I was fucked

Tarrnack said: Glad you reached out to me buddy. I really appreciate your encouragement. Anxiety and depression is something allot of us are hurt by. I've only now just cumming out of it. The podcasts helped me allot with my attitude. I was sick of being a miserable cynic that cant embrace the good in things in life. ... I got good at numbing my emotions for a long time and it got the the point where I couldn't feel anything. I almost got into a car accident and realized I felt no fear and no emotion. I was thinking about killing myself all the time. Nothing gave me enjoyment anymore. Podcasts gave me a new window to look at the world from my dark introspective home in my mind. In a way it saved my life.
I know the feelings well. A few years ago I began a meditation practice when I realized I was angry and couldn't stop. I became a Thai monk a couple of years later, for a year. Best thing I ever did for my head. (If I could start and stay on an exercise program, it would be good for my body, too.) Sitting for 20 minutes a day, feeling the breath going past the end of your nose or past your upper lip would help more than you can imagine. When your mind wanders, bring it back to watching your breath. It works!
Your thread is great and I'm walking a parallel path. My first grow is beginning to sit in the FC. Now, with Shroomfest in late Aug, I have a date for my first trip! Yay me! Thanks for the headsup.
Best wishes for your journey. It's dark now, but there is a way out. Keep looking for it.

Wow that's quite the accomplishment. Good for you. I appreciate your support a great deal. I think you understand how dark things can get sometimes. Times were tough but I'm finally moving forward.
I'm excited for you. Congrats on getting to the FC! Best of luck. One thing I recently learned was that the pins are formed when water evaporates from the cake (among other things). That's what triggers them. Something to keep in mind.
Btw here is some more info reguarding Shroomfest. http://arithegreat.com/shroomfestprimer/
The Skeptic Tank is a good podcast as well. I listen to it all the time.
