Haha that's great. I'm going out for flounder in a few weeks. I'm thinking about eating ALLOT of pot for the trip. I've never done shrooms but I've eaten allot of pot before and I assume its a similar experience to a mild mushroom dose.

A cube trip is closer to DMT than pot.

I think they're totally different feelings. Love both of them, but I wouldn't even compare the two really.

How's them jars looking?

Hmm ok. I've had more then one person say that. Knowing its completely different makes me even more excited about the experience. Also the jars are cumming along just fine. #6 still hasn't started to colonize though. Late bloomer I suppose. I'm about to post a pic. Check it out.

A Magical Journey: Colonization [Re: Tarrnack]

Colonization

Alright looks like I'm off to a good start. Its been 7 days since I inoculated my first jars. #6 still hasn't shown signs of growth. Its only a matter of time I suppose. Some are further along then others but they still look strong. Its pretty cool.

a mushroom trip will involve moving patterns that form on just about everything - its very similar to the dreaming computer images from google:

however, the actual body sensation is much, much, much more intense than pot. We're talking a different ballpark here. You will feel so high, being high on pot will seem like sobriety. You shouldn't expect to be able to work or even do simple tasks like playing video games or strumming a guiter - you will lose pretty much all dexterity while you are tripping. However, you will have enough motor control to do things like walk around, make simple food, go to the bathroom, etc.

it will also change the way you think. you will probably end up at some point getting really introspective about your life choices - which can be a good thing. I've also experienced mild amnesia, where I couldn't remember anything about my person except my g/f's name and where I worked - but that was only during my most intense trip ever.

it will also last 4-8 hours, so it can become an ordeal for some people to be so fucked up for so long.

you probably won't want to trip again for awhile. the trip will stay with you for a long time so you won't need repeated trips. its not uncommon to feel like you've seriously changed your person/mind immediately following your first trip - that is you will feel reborn - see the world through a new set of eyes.

Alright folks, here's my story. I've been seeking the great fungus on and off for over ten years. No one ever had them in high school. Even after I was never able to find that guy who knew a guy that had them. I didn't think much more about it and never really perused it.

I love Podcasts. Ari Shaffir, the comedian, has a show The Skeptic Tank. He always goes on about the positive benefits of mushrooms. So do many other comics like Joe Rogan as well as the natural experiences including isolation tanks and meditation. I've been in a personal funk for a long time now. In finally cumming out of it now but a part of me is still in that hole. I've heard it be described as bit of a reset button for your mind. Helping to look at yourself in a different way. By no means do I believe this to be a cure all but I do think this would be a very positive thing to peruse. There is a holiday cumming up in August called Shroomfest. You fine folks probably celebrate it. This was to be my first trip.

I smoke pot so I asked my dude if he could help. Of course he couldn't. I asked around. Nothing. I actually went on craigslist in desperation. I don't even know what I was thinking. The first thing that popped up on google was this thread http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/18348735/fpart/all/vc/1

Of course! I'm a DIY kind of guy. I'll do it myself. I did a ton of research. Watch the famous PF Tec vids. Read up on everything. Ordered my spores. Got my gear and started inoculating my jars. Right now I'm in the colonization faze and its pretty exciting! 5 out of my 6 jars are are starting to show promising signs of growth in the 5 or 6 days since inoculation. I'm also have a bit of a deadline. The goal is to have edible fruits by Shroomfest on August 29th. I'll post progress reports for myself and anyone interested in my magical journey. I'll post pics when I have good one to post as well as document my first trip and experience.

Hey Tar...I came across your post and thought I would send you a note of encouragement and good vibes.  I have a similar story it seems.  I have fought severe anxiety and "some" depression for most of my life but really noticed it becoming daily and bad over the last 10 years.  Long story short I am an avid listener of Joe Rogan as well.  That guy has some great ideas. Also, check out Aubry Marcus' podcast.  He's a friend of Rogan's and runs a fitness company in Austin called Onnit.  He's a very positive guy when it comes to the mind/body connection.

Anyway, I have only had the opportunity to use psilocybin 3 times...the 1st being the most "transformative" for me.  So if you have any questions from the perspective of a newbie, I'm happy to try and help.  I have since been looking into combining meditation, working out and Bikram yoga to fight my anxiety as well.  And for the 1st time in a long time I think all of these things combined are/will help me feel good again.  I am also a newbie to cultivating mushrooms.  I have everything I need...just waiting on the spores to arrive.  Well good luck to you with your grow and your journey.  As long as you keep moving forward things will get better.

Well I smoke quite a bit of pot so my being high is already like sobriety

:rainingjoints:

That sounds pretty hardcore, a little more then I expected. Reminds me of the ether binge from Fear and Loathing. I'm also reminded of Dave Chappelle's bit about how he took some and thought it would be similar to a background drug like pot. I still plan on doing a few things. Ride my bike, go fishing, and try to survive the first cycle in the arcade game Donkey Kong. I'll try my best but from what you have said I looks like it will be quite the challenge.

Glad you reached out to me buddy. I really appreciate your encouragement. Anxiety and depression is something allot of us are hurt by. I've only now just cumming out of it. The podcasts helped me allot with my attitude. I was sick of being a miserable cynic that cant embrace the good in things in life.  Being eaten up by my past and potential future (or lack there of). My mom got real sick and almost died of a infection caused by a abscess in her intestine. I got good at numbing my emotions for a long time and it got to the point where I couldn't feel anything. I almost got into a car accident and realized I felt no fear and no emotion. I entertained the thought of killing myself all the time. Nothing gave me enjoyment anymore. Podcasts gave me a new window to look at the world from my dark introspective home in my mind. In a way it saved my life.

It's been like a year since I started moving forward. There is still a part of myself that's still in that dark room. I feel like mushrooms can be the literal and figurative key to my personal progress. I ride my bike everyday, I started fishing again, I do yoga...I quit smoking cigarettes (I used to smoke like 2 packs a day on top of pot), don't really drink anymore...I do smoke more pot then I've ever before...that's a problem. I smoke like a 8th a day at least. A side effect form quitting cigs I guess...but other then that I'm on the track to a better place. It is possible. No matter how much you think it isn't a option you can change the way your thinking.

I fully support your growing adventures and your personal path to bettering yourself. Best of luck to you. I'd be interested in reading about your progress.

Donkey kong will probably have you in stitches!  One of the hardest laughs I have ever had was playing pinball on shrooms.  I still talk/reminisce about it with my buddy some 15 yrs later...  I am a super avid fisherman, but have never fished on shrooms.  to much motor control required, and i'm not sure how I would handle the fish if I caught one.

Best of luck to you!

One of the first big lake trouts I caught I was peaking on acid.. I'm still not sure if it was a good time or if I'm traumatized for life.

I had a great time fishing last year around quadra and cortez too, ugly looking fish though I'll stick to my rainbows and lakers.

I wish you luck on your journey OP - even though your use of 'peruse' and 'cumming' is kind of odd!

A funeral procession pulled into a cemetery. Several carloads of family members followed a black truck towing a boat with a coffin in it.

A passer-by remarked, "That guy must have been a very avid fisherman.”

"Oh, he still is," remarked one of the mourners. "As a matter of fact, he's headed off to the lake as soon as we bury his wife.”

Haha Donkey Kong is hard as hell if your going for points. Its one of the hardest. I play it semi competitively and have trained for many years trying to master the game. On shrooms I probably wont make it past the first barrel board. I'm gonna try as hard as I can though! I will most likely record it and put it on this thread. Yeah. I'll definitely do that. Stay tuned for failure!

I love pinball as well. I'm not a fresh water fisherman much at all. I live on Long Island so its mostly salt water. I may actually go out in a little bit for a late night fresh water fishing trip.

its interesting.  sometimes shrooms can give you superpowers with videogames and things like that.  for some reason it can seem in slow motion and you dominate.  same with pinball.  or foosball.  I am unstoppable in foosball on shrooms or acid.  it is like the ball is in slow motion, and i see this trail and it is just so easy. not nearly as good when i'm sober.

I fish very similar saltwater not too far from you.  Like I said, it would be tough, but make a go of it, I'm sure you would have a blast.  try to have everything set up beforehand. I don't think you could tie a knot in fishing line while tripping.

Thats interesting. Ill have to try Quake 3 arena now  :laser:

I went fishing this morning. It was mainly me trying to find a spot to fish. It stunk. I was trying to fish near Twin Lakes in Wantaugh. Ended up feeding a bunch of ducks my protein bar.

Colonization - 2nd update 12th day of colonization [Re: Tarrnack]
    #22018784 - 07/30/15 08:38 AM (8 years, 5 months ago)

Jars are looking good so far. This is what there looking like on day 12.

Real strong looking stringy mycelium growth.

Still jar #6 lies dormant. I have no Idea why it didn't take.

I plan on injecting it with some Cambodian spores I'm using for a small future side project. I'll post updates as they develop.

Good job! But next time, I'd get the half pint WIDE mouth jars. The cakes will colonize faster as well as be easier to birth once 100% colonized.

Yup. I know allot more now then when I inoculated those jars :p

I wonder if I could even cut them in half and increase the surface area for fruiting.
