If you're not wiling to spend the money to keep your pet healthy, you shouldn't have one IMO.
As for how much it costs, probably less than 100 dollars. too many factors to give a definite answer, check up is a pretty ambiguous term, there are any number of tests that might be deemed nessecary in a check up, although you will have the option to refuse them and get pricing before hand. Check up could even discover something that needed to be taken care of that would raise the bill.

Nothing appeals to me no one feels like me, I’m too busy being calm to disappear. I’m in no shape to be alone contrary to the shit that you might hear. You can't wake up, this is not a dream. This. Pets are an adult responsibility.

You should probably just call your local animal hospital to get a quote. Different price ranges for different hospitals so no one here can say for sure. I am sure they will be more than willing to explain to you.

Lots of places allow you to apply for care credit at animal hospitals if you need help for payments. They will not let you have work done for your animal unless you pay in full most of the time.

A check up shouldn't be more than $60. Give the dog fish oil and glucosamine vitamins for treats everyday. Mine loves em.

How much money should I expect to pay for a checkup. I feel very bad about this. I care about my dog & I want to take him to the vet but I cannot afford to pay $500 plus for a vet bill.
Also, What should I expect out of this check-up? He is not overweight but lately has been having a hard time getting up flights of stairs.
I'm sorry, I didn't know where to put this thread & I thought here, most likely there are people who own a dog. I feel really bad that I have to think about money when taking in to account my dog's life.
If it's routine then it should just be for the cost of the exam and any vaccines. Usually they don't run too far over 100.00 with that all included - unless there's additional testing done. I think my vet is/was(no longer a dog owner sadly, not ready for a new one yet) a bit pricier than some. I used to have horses and to have a vet drive out to me, give vaccines, and do a basic exam it was 80-140 dollars depending on which season it was(vaccines), and care for my dog rivaled the price of routine and occasional mishap vet care for the horses.
A lot of vets are willing to work out payment plans if you're a good customer and you ask nicely.

Hi, I give em the same fish oils I would eat. As long as it's purified it's gonna be the best you can get. The glucosamine is actually in the food I give him.

I really like this brand. It's not as high end as Wellness or Blue Wild or whatever but it digests way better than those brands.

Fish oil and glucosamine are seriously good stuff, Fish oil increases my health and my dad is very fond of glucosamine for his aching joints. Its stuff that works.

Thank you. Have you ever tried this product? I already give my dog a certain food. I was thinking about purchasing this: TerraMax Pro #1 Liquid Glucosamine for Dogs with Chondroitin MSM & Hyaluronic Acid. It has really good reviews. It is a little pricey but I want the best I can get. I think he would really benefit from it, his legs aren't doing as good as they used to. Sometimes he even falls just walking if he is a little riled up.
