Beautious!
Never thought to cut the soil mix with coir for novos. I would have figured that would have retained too much moisture for them.

Whatever you are doing is working, so keep it up. But why are you changing the way you are growing them? I thought is was your wife that was the demise of your other novos?

Ah, well, sorry to hear about that man. As long as you are happy. At least now, you don't have to worry about the safety of your plants.

It's just growing weird that's all. They all are with the exception of the rest.

They did awesome with a repot. Even the ones that looked sickly, after the repot, started growing pretty new leaves. I made a mix of coffee grounds and jobes slow release ferts and top dressed the pots. I think they all might make it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Lookin' good. Glad to hear that changing the mix seems to have sorted them out.

Well it's cold out. Life in general is cold. I just read my beginning post and it kinda brought tears to my eyes cause here I am. Alone. Living at my parents house again. But slowly I am getting to grow again.
Here they are today.

I attached my light to this desk my mom has. She is gonna be pissed when she sees the damage. But it makes me happy.
Now, I believe the light to be too far. For the novos at least. But it's perfect for my chocolates. This little place is just for winter.
Does anyone see any problems with this ghetto setup? And I'm literally back in the ghetto.

My cacaos are the true sufferers here. One has grown very well. But now with season change they are not doing so good. Only one. I tried to just let "shorty" be outside but it just got too cold. And it has lost everything. Like me. The tall one just grew a new leaf. Which leads me to believe it will be alright. But I have never overwintered cacaos.
So any good grower, please reply. I hope this is good. Ambient temps are about 74 Fahrenheit. Should I most them or not? Any tips help.

They seem to be taking to the light.

Oh yeah!
They are both looking great! Glad to see how that cacao seems to really have taken a turn for the better.

Thanks man. The other one is sprouting little bits but so much slower. Come spring and my novos are gonna really take off. Can't wait for flowers and dare I say, berries. that's when this thread will really pick up. I think the most critical stages for the novos are over.

I agree.
I'm with you though... I can't wait to see berries start popping up on the one I've got.

How long does it take to go from seed to harvest and how much dried leaf does it yield?

You talking about E. novo right? If so you asking about harvesting enough to do a coke extraction?
You would need WAY more than 1 plant to make it worth while. I wouldn't even consider harvesting with only 1 plant?
