Cigarette smoke negatively effecting your myc?

Well I'm a pretty hefty cigarette and weed smoker. I've read a few rather old threads on here that say all that smoke can carry contams into your chamber. Has this ever been proven true? Should I worry about smoking in the same room as my SGFC? I could always smoke outside, but I'd rather not if there's nothing to worry about.

I've tried that, didn't work for me. I do plan to quit, but I'm never going to quit smoking weed. So my question still stands: Does smoke harbor a shit load of contaminates that will compromise my fruiting chamber? I mean I just don't see how it could have any more contaminates then regular air, since that's where it would be picking up said contaminates anyways. I read this in very old threads so I want to see what people think of that now a days.

If your chain smoking cigarettes with no ventilation in the same room as your grow, it probably isn't the best for them. Tobacco smoke is thick and full of shit, weed smoke still has tar but not as much compared to tobacco

I guess I don't understand. Do you smoke in the same room as your fruiting chamber? Are you hot boxing it like a cat?
If you have healthy tubs/cakes then they should be able to fend for themselves, but why abuse them with that garbage?
Just smoke outside or in a different part of your house. I smoke Cannabis quite often, but if you smoke in my lab or grow area I would slap it out of your mouth.

I'll smoke my ciggies outdoors. I figured all the chems in cig smoke would definitely not be good for myc, but just wanted to be sure.

Yea I typically hot box the room I've set up my SGFC in (not intentionally there is just no good ventilation in here). But now that I have my first cake in there, and number 2 on the way I wanted to double check about the smoke theories I read. Thanks for clearing this up for me guys.

it's not like mycelium develops cancer.. also literally anything will bring contaminations into your grow room. Even a sneeze or eating a twinkie. Going for a walk outside and walking into the room introduces contaminations. The 1 place that needs you to be clean and sterile is your lab/still air box. Everything else I just treat it like any other part of the house.

If this means anything to you, I quit smoking 3 years ago by switching to an e cig. I lowered the nicotine level each month until I became annoyed with charging the damn thing and cigarettes tasted too disgusting to switch back.

So if I smoke in the same room as my fruiting chamber with poor ventilation, there is nothing to worry about? I suspected all the pesticides and shit they put in tobacco would be bad for it or something. Either way I think I'll probably keep smoking weed in here and just begin to smoke cigarettes outdoors. I would like to test this though

It might increase co2 levels, not sure by how much.. also not sure about pesticides. Haha yeah you should do some tests. Done with a bunch of different controls. ie. Clones, different types of chambers, different substrates, and so on.

I plan to quit smoking cigarettes by switching to snus. I think if I can avoid smoking cigarettes for a week with snus that I can probably just get off of snus without a problem by lowering my amount of pouches I use each day. The reason I can't quit cold turkey is because weed makes me crave nicotine. I suppose it's the weed high mixed with the mellow tobacco buzz that brings me to want a cig so bad the second I get high.

I am going to contemplate this. I feel like it would be a worth while experiment. I just got to decide how exactly I would set this up.

Smoke particles are far smaller than say a mold spore. I doubt the smoke itself will hurt anything but it does tend to increase the amount of dust in a room over time.

wrong, weed has way more tar than cigarettes, at least the shit I've seen does anyway, (maybe yours don't,) never had a cigarette cover my fingers with tar after a couple hits, shits running out the end...

Yeah weed has 4x more tar lol. There's lots of articles showing that the cannibinoids will stop tumor growth tho. So it's kinda a weird phenomenon. Unlike tobacco, weed smokers seem to get a larger lung capacity from it (from taking big hits and holding it), and if anything your throat just gets irritated from it at most.
