Freebase in a vaporiser

Firstly, hello everyone. I'm new here, as I have a burning question. This place popped up on a few google searches over the last few months so thought it would be a good place to come.
I've had some luck with freebase sprinkled over ash mixed in with a bit of tobacco in a pipe but always thought I was burning more than I was actually taking in.
I went and bought a vaporiser (Arizer Solo), it has an adjustable temperature setting so should be able to keep the temps low. However, if you look into the heating element it has holes for the oxygen to get in. I tried putting the DMT inside foil mixed with a bit of tobacco but the first notch temperature didn't do anything... I knocked it up onto the third and it just burned everything. I didn't feel a thing.
Is there a particular method for freebase in a vaporiser?
Cheers

If the first notch doesn't do anything, and the third notch burns everything......
Try the second notch.

Ha...
So freebase inside tinfoil is an accepted method? As it was just something I thought to try, rather than clogging up the vaporiser.

At first I tried making a tinfoil bowl for the crystals to sit in too. I remember it working but not very well. My volcano has these special "liquid pads" for vaporizing essential oils. Works perfectly for dmt crystals. You fit the pad into the bottom of your bowl and just sprinkle the crystals on top. As you vape they melt into the mesh, keeping it from falling through while increasing the surface area, making a very efficient vape. I use 400F on my vape even though I think that's twice as much necessary. Doesn't burn it though, just a thick cloudy bag of vapor.

So try getting or making a mesh pad for your vape so the hot air can pass through it and the crystals. And you may have to hit it quickly if it's one of those whip style vapes. A bag of vapor off the volcano takes about 20 seconds to fill and lasts about 8 hits. But if the crystals in your vape are in contact with the heat throughout the entire toking process, you might be losing some.

The DaVinci vape comes with small canisters that fit into the cylindrical heating chamber which are used for "essential oils". The top of the canister pops of revealing thick mesh on the inside to optimize surface area. I haven't tried vaping DMT out of it for fear of it leaving difficult to clean residue in the vape, which I use daily for weed. The temperature can be set manually and can range extremely high. It's only around $100USD for the vape as well as a truck load of accessories that get thrown in with it, if you plan on vaping DMT frequently it might be worth it.
