I usually only pick cubes but I figured i'd start collecting these instead of leaving them for the other pickers and try to gain a good experience from them..
I have pictures of different kinds i'l post, I just need help diferenciating the active ones from the similar looking inactives.. Also, I am aware both are edible..? Correct ? So even if I mistake an inactive for an active I am safe physically ?
Thank you shroomeritians SO MUCH in advance..
Found growing in cow manure in a somewhat shaded cow field..

Much love to all you shroomeritians , I am feeling amazing tonight!
Tl;Dr : Basically need help telling which pans are active, and how to tell the difference between the active ones and inactive ones.. thank you

And how about these mushrooms sitting in front of the cubes in the back of the picture? How would I ID those as pan cyans or in-actives ?

thank you in advance!

so the ones in the picture are active? How can I tell which ones are active because they have a look a like that is identical but not active.

If they aren't bruising blue then they aren't active...your collection looks mixed...definitely mostly good ones, but go through and toss any that aren't bruising.
Although, none of the mushrooms in your pictures would hurt you if you ate them, just that some of them may not be worth eating.

They're not completely identical
for one the stems on the "inactive" are fleshy, whereas the ones on blue meanies are similar to that of cubes
also if you look closely to the stems, the blue meanies have what look like little snow flakes on them whereas the "inactives" don't
I put "inactives" in quotes because they are in fact active, at least in the times I've ingested them.. they're just not very potent.

Panaeolus antillarum is a look alike and you can tell the difference by blue bruising.
Luckily P. antillarum is edible if you were to ingest them. Not choice - but edible.
