What makes it look like abort city? cuz like i said the color is distorted due to the dark red light right next to the tub on my reptile enclosure.

The mushrooms, how they look and are forming.
Can't really explain it much better than that.

If I was a betting man, I'd bet a lot of them mushies on top will abort.

well, i mist and fan twice a day. when i wake up and before i go to bed. and by fanning i mean i just wave the lid a few times over the tub. after fanning i always spray once or twice more before shutting the lid. Anything I could add to the routine? or maybe take out?

I asked you if you had a proper sgfc.

I'm too lazy to sort through pages and pages to see if you mentioned it before.

oh my bad man! there are no holes on the bottom and its sitting on the ground so it can catch the reptile light. The fanning doesn't provide enough FAE?

Holes on the bottom are probably the most important.
Fanning does absolutely nothing if its not in a proper sgfc my friend.

That's why they look starved for fresh air.

Once you put holes on the bottom don't lay it flat on the ground. The air needs to circulate through the bottom

More like no fae. Just refreshes humidity. It helps evaporate water off the substrate. Thus you should only ever fan when you mist (which honestly I dont fan ever) fae should be constant from the holes in your chamber

eh, like neil degrease tyson says, theres a disconnect between what we know and what we do. I knew that but didn't do it. I don't have convenient means of making holes, i use a lighter to soften up the plastic and a big pair of scissors to poke through. The holes are pretty consistent at about .5'

Anyways, would I be able to do the lighter and scissor technique whilst the super cake is in the tub without risking contam?

Damnit dude. You started that whole MushCult thread and we gave you all kinds of advice. This is the thanks we get?

I'm kidding, you will get fruits. But still it could have been a lot better for you.....

I have an sgfc with no holes on the bottom.. but i run a hepa 24/7 on low-med. the fae seems to be the sweet spot in my scenario Ive produced some nice fruits. def raised off the ground is best

Although your FAE may be adequate, the HEPA is not going to provide the humidity that the perlite will from having a properly designed SGFC (hole on the bottom).

this may be the 3rd time people are telling me to poke holes in the bottom so I will lol. I'm just a stubborn human :crazy2:

but will that scissor-light thing work? Anything else that would be better that may be around the house? I don't have any power tools, i just moved across the US into an apartment, couldn't bring everything with me lol.

It's not really a sgfc with no bottom holes lol. They are arguably the most important ones.

@trax if you have a blow torch, heat up a screw driver or a 1/4" nail until red hot and poke holes that way?

The perlite is worthless with no holes. Physics. Sorry.

I have fruited cakes on my kitchen table as center pieces it "seemed to work well," but it is far from ideal.

MOAR PICS. Lets stop derailing this thread.
