Having scoured (yes scoured) the FAQ I can find no reference to a psilocybe psathyrella,is this an inactive or non-psilocybe species?

Psathyrella is a genus, not a species. there are no active Psathyrellas, they are just attractive. some psathyrellas will cohabitate with P. cyanescens and other woodloving psilocybian mushrooms.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Psathyrella conopilus was one of the few mushrooms appearing in rather
large quantities this year. Here is a pic from end of November:
