First attempt, could use some advise
    #21985007 - 07/23/15 02:04 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

I am attempting my first cultivation.  I could find smaller jars so I tried using 1.5 pint jars for the PF Tek.  I injected the jars about three weeks ago, one jar looks to be about a quarter done and the other about three quarters.  They are colonizing very slow, but seem to be making progress.

I'm not sure they will reach 100%.  Should I continue to wait, or should I pull them out and try to spawn to bulk or if there is an intact cake continue with the PF Tek?

I used the penis envy strain, which I've read is a slow colonizer.

Thoughts anyone?

PE isn't slow to colonise. It's slow to pin. 3 weeks from spores in a jar that size isn't too bad. I wouldn't be surprised if they stall because the bottom of the cakes is getting compacted dew to the height of your jars. If they do stall. just cut off the un-colonised portion of your cakes. Then you can either dunk, roll and fruit as cakes or crumble them to use as spawn for a bulk substrate. keep in mind PE doesn't generally fruit well on PF cakes.
