Only getting side pins

I keep having a problem after is colonize the substrate in the trays. I cover them with tin foil during colonization and when the 10-14 days is up, I have a ton of side pins but no pins up top. I mist and fan it but I never get a real flush, only side pins. That's why I don't cover the sides because side pins are all I get lol cept for a few rebels.
I'm wondering if I should even use tin foil to cover the top?
I only got a flush of side pins after a week. I'm using monotubs with 6 1" holes drilled in it, 4 above the sub and 2 by the top. Do you think I could dunk em to help em along for the next flush? The bottom is all white and has a lot of pins too, should I just flip it?
Just wondering if I can try something to get a real flush

I didn't rly give much details.
Used 6qts wbs spawn to 14 quarts hpoo+coir in a monotub. Waited 12 days to be safe then uncovered and started to mist and fan 3 times a day, misting indirectly. Temperature has been a little warm 70-80 cuz its summer.
I'll post pics in a sec. True tho, I don't have a lot of light but the sides don't seem to mind u know? So I figured it should be enough. It's not dark but there are blinds.

I covered the holes with micropore tape today to see if I was making it too dry. It's not normally that humid. But they seemed to be forming so well before I opened the holes and misting and fanning. Maybe I'm misting too much or not enough, Idk. Don't have enough experience to tell yet. I got about 2 ounces in side pins in about 4 days though.
Their growth seems to have slowed down and some mycelium bruised a little on the top layer of one tub. I'm confused lol.

Most use a liner to prevent sidepins. Maybe too much fae as well?
A badass cultivator on here makes his substrate completely level. And has no problem with side pins an has no longer.

I tried that last time with a Liner but I didn't get much out of it because I never got a real flush. The side pins are all I get lol so I take em.

Stuff poly fill so it creates a airflow that will help with an even pinset.
Stuff the bottom holes tight an the top holes loose.
That may make the difference?

Cut open a pillow an pc the polyfil inside. If ya don't got a extra pillow they are very cheap. Cheaper than buying just polyfil alone!

Just did it lol. well see what happens. I'll give em more light too.
Is 2-3 times a day too much to mist?

Monotubs are usually set and forget. No misting needed if dialed in correctly.
After a first flush you could dunk your sub in water for 2-4 hours.
I hear of misting a mono only when looks dry and adjusting the polyfil tighter in the bottom holes helps to prevent too much drying of the sub.

So what could be considered a flush? It's been a week for mine, and I've gotten a flush of side pins, but not a real flush. But do you think I should dunk it anyways since i probably should have had a flush by now?
