Sun Burn or Fungus on my Peruvianus?
    #2198123 - 12/23/03 05:49 PM (13 years, 9 months ago)

Hello, here are pictures of a long spine peru and a small spine peru. Both appear to have the same condition. Being new to the cacti, my girlfriend is not sure what is going on. They are sitting in an indoor room with a southern exposure so they get light all day. (Currently around 12 hours.) The soil is dry and has been for a few weeks. I don't believe that it is base rot because it does not appear that they are rotting at the base. They are stiff. They look like they are peeling. Thanks.

Here is a HI-Res Image. 150k

Look like they've been through a lot, as long as those areas are hard there's not much to do, there's really nothing wrong with it. Consider them battle scars.
