tricking cyans into early fruits?

So it's a lil early for fall but it's been a lil chilly today, got me thinking.
Anybody ever try covering a cultivated known fruiting cyan bed in like burlap or something, and cover it in ice?
I wonder if you could trick them into believing fall came early with cool temps and moisture?
I feel like the slow drain of the melted water would hydrate the myc and the cooler temp of the water and ambient air around the ice might be enough to simulate fall conditions. This would have to be repeated daily for a few weeks if think before it worked. So I figure I should put it out there now.

I've successfully fruited cyans indoor by using a mini fridge to simulate fall but it still took 10 months from spawn bin start to fruit. So it didn't cut much time off but enough I'd like to see cyans in august if possible.
I recently moved so my outdoor beds aren't well established yet but I'm still gonna try it and see what happens. Plan to update as it progresses.
If any one else can try this as well please let me know how it goes?

So in attempts to further investigate this idea. I have a pot that's fully colonized from some feet I stuck in egg carton from last October then planted in a pot with winter ground cover seed, dirt and alder chips. I've kept it on the porch outside all year, the grass in it died this summer but the myc seems to be eating the grass and I've been watering it quite often. I can remove the entire mass of dirt and chips inside and the myc will hold it together. So I feel like it might be ready to make some fruits. the myc is climbing out the pot.
So in an attempt to trick them into fruiting, over trying to ice my outdoor patches, I've placed them inside under my a.c.unit and placed ice directly on the chips casing layer.

They get a lil Sun each day in the afternoon and stay chill and moist. Yes they are on a water heater but its surface is no hotter than the air in the house and the pot is lifted in the catch basin.
I'm hoping I can get the same result I got with the mini fridge with just ice and my a.c. Unit indoor. If they fruit early with this tek I may try out door next year but I suspect it'll be a lot of ice. And I wanna see my outdoor beds fruit once naturally before I'm ready to try and trick em.
I'll update as progress is made or not.

So it's been about a week, I've been adding ice every day. I noticed about 2 days in it was too wet to add ice directly to the chips anymore. I started placing the ice in a Ziploc bag and placed a paper towel under the bag to prevent the plastic suffocating the myc.
every few days of this treatment when the chips begin to dry I'll add ice directly to to pot again. Just in the last few days the myc has begun to get really fluffy again and it's climbed through the casing. Looking allot like it does before fall.

Here's hoping for some hyphal knots! Figure few more weeks of this it might actually work

Noticed the last pics got messed up so, updated from today. The myc is very fingery and fluffy

also quite active, in just a few days it's begun to make clusters, not knots yet but it's looking like it's on it's way

Here's hoping it'll do it's thing!

This looks promising. The mycelium seems to be liking it a little chilly on the top surface. Maybe its time i dig up my old prints to see if they are still usable.
I have been away from this hobby a while but things like this gets my ideas workin. Good luck and keep posting updates.

That is awesome, and mushrooms are smarter than you think. I doubt they would fall for the old pine cone trick

So now that it's cold and wet outside I've moved them back out under a bush to collect rain and outdoor air. If and when the storm lets up I'll bring them back in.

They're pretty active right now I hope this puts em over the edge into fruit. I'd love fresh cyans in a few weeks!

So I believe I've achieved primordia! May almost be October but if these grow up before the first I'll be stoked!

One side off the pot is showing worrying signs of an invader

Looks to me to be Sphaerobolus stellatus, I've had a problem with them in a few of my other pots too.
Hope the other hyphal knots are actually the cyans. Look like it to me, but we'll see.
