Starting agar for the first time. Any tips for a first timer?

Just making sure that I have everything I need to begin. Here is a list of everything I have or will have shortly...
Supplies:
Glovebox and Pressure Cooker (obviously) Alcohol for sterilization Sterile gloves, surgical mask, and tyvek sleeves Flame source for syringe and scalpel sterilization Set of plastic tri-section petri dishes 100g of Potato dextrose Agar Scalpel Spore/LC syring for inoculation parafilm to seal dishes Whiskey bottle to hold agar while sterilizing
I think that is everything I need besides patience. I have been told that agar really is the way to go, since it allows you to visibly inspect for contaminants, and isolate individual strains. Since only a drop of spore fluid is required, it seems like a great way to stretch out the life of your expensive spore syringes or even just test out LC syringes.
Any tips to throw my way before I begin? Thanks!

practise pouring with your whiskey bottle. Just fill it with water and put some sort of plates in your glove box to mimic your petris, just small saucers or something. Get used to taking the cap off and pouring. Mimic all movements, taking imaginary lids off and putting back on.
This way you may decide to stack them differently, or sit differently, or put the bottle in a different place etc.

That makes sense, thanks!

To help prevent agar boil over: -bring the PC to 14psi slowly -fill the water inside the PC so it is level with the agar inside the flask/bottle -reduce the psi slowly. To do this I occasionally turn the stove back on to low for a few minutes to slow the drop of the psi.
Working with agar has really taught me to tighten up my SAB sterile procedures.

Thanks for that! I really look forward to this. I can't believe I have never worked with agar after all of these years. I'm really excited!
