I am just happy I got to see these beautiful beings I stopped my car driving home because I noticed them, luckily I had my camera. They are were literally in the ditch, near the road, under a pine tree that sits on the corner of the road I live on....now they are gone, wtf? They were there for DAYS!

They may have been Amanita muscaria var. guessowii, but it's hard to tell from the pics.

Were they actives? Edibles? Or just some beautiful specimens to look at until our furry friends eat them?

Thank you so much! I must say that is my first time ever seeing actives in my area! So cool! That makes me think someone picked them, maybe they noticed me taking pictures lol.

Just to be clear, Amanita muscaria, isn't active in the same way Psilocin containing mushrooms. Completely different beast, most people steer clear of them.

I am seeing that the more I read on them. I think I too will stray away from eating them and just take photos of them and stick to eating my cubes and pans Thank you so very much brother!!

What exactly is the active chemical/s in Amanita muscaria and what is the difference after consumption?

Very true, did them twice and both times were completely different than psilocin. More of a confused, drunken,no coordination type of experience. Didn't hate it, just don't prefer it. My cousin on the other hand loves them and seeks them out every year. To each their own

You can read trip reports for Amanita muscaria on Erowid.
And read this.

I am reading reports from alot of different people who seem to state nausea, drunk like feelings, stomach/head aches...it sure does sound alot different than the Psilocin we all know and love. I hope I didnt spring someone to eat them by them noticing me stop my car, jump out and take pictures. I am half tempted to knock on the guys door whos yard they are in but I dont want to draw any attention to myself lol.

So from my research I found basically Amanita is a disassociative where as others (cubes, pans, etc) are not.

Your intentions are good but I wouldn't stress yourself too much about it. Amilibertine is probably right

We do have an insane amount of squirrels, groundhogs, beavers, raccoons, you name it. My neighborhood is basically carved in the middle of a marsh, surrounding us from all sides is a vast forest with swamps, lakes, streams and fields so this is reassuring I am sure some of our furry brothers and sisters ventured out for a snack, and found one Thanks again everyone! I absolutely love this community, you all rock!
