First grow, cobweb or mycelium?
    #21975140 - 07/21/15 10:51 AM (8 years, 6 months ago)

Hello,
My friend has a brf cake with some odd looking myc. Looks like puffs of white cloud. It has been there since birthing and has been in an isolated FC made from a 2 liter soda bottle for 3-4 days. It has since formed MASSIVE pins and needs more room to grow. She would like to put this cake into the main SGFC which has ample room. She doesn't want to risk contamination of the other cakes though. The question is, is this myc or cobweb mold?

Thanks in advance!

It looks like pearlite?

Either way, I don't see anything to be scared of.

Okay thanks, you are correct there are bits of perlite stuck to the cake. Not sure how that happened. I was referring to the fuzz above the perlite.

It looks good from here, cobweb usually is a not as thick/dense as the mycelium your pointing out, also the hyphae tend to be longer.
