First time grower concerns

I want to say this looks like a great forum I wish I found sooner. I bought a grow bag and Equador spores from www.sporebank.com and am not sure if im doing things correctly. I did like the site told me and injected 1cc of spores on each side using the self sealing foam disc(2cc total). Then I put the bag in my closet where its dark and get no light. I have the tempurature and 70f and humidity around 65-70% and it been 12 days and don't really notice anything im aware of. I just wan't to know if I am doing things correctly? I did a search and found nothing from the sporebank grow bags. Any help or advice will greatly be appriciated.

pics would be nice, it's possible you inoculated the spores away from the visible substrate... but give it more time and see

The needle was not long enough to really inoculte away from the substrate. Im sure the spores hit the substrate well. Im just concered as I see other grow kits to need some light. From what I take this kit needs no light till near or full colonization? Then I place it in indirect light. I want to add I have the grow bag in a cedar closet. Shoud I also continue to give the bag no light? Thanks

We have a few grow bags...except they've been at it for a month and a half (some 2+ months) and we've seen no visible changes.
That's when I switched to the PF tek.

Try setting them on top of the fridge or on the water heater. Also cabinets above the fridge get pretty warm.
Most of the time boosting the temp up around 80-85 will make a huge diff.

For a first timer there is no other way to go except PF Tek.
That is an opinion, but a strong one, start out with something very easy. When you have made that work several times properly, then move on to bigger and better things .

Is sporebank.com a good company to order from? I was thinking about ordering some spore syrenges from them but instead i decided to go with Mycogrow.com. Did i make the right choice? Just ordered recently...and haven't sent the money order in just yet.
I know this if off the topic but i thought you might have some feedback from ordering from sporebank.com.
Thanks, Drug

my friend got a bag from sporebank.com and innoc'd with a full syringe of pr's{didn't know any better}! That was 2 months ago, he wrapped a towel around it and it began to sweat alot and finally he saw a tiny circle of what appears to be white mycillium growth right behind the injection port! It's been 2 days since he noticed this new growth and it hasn't seemed to spread! He did notice now a stinky acrid odor coming from the filter patch!! He hopes that isn't contamination but he isn't sure?????

like anno said that smell doesn't sound good.
mushrooms have a smell however it's not really a stinky smell.
Just keep a eye on it and see what happens. Just for safty I wouldn't be sitting there huffing on it untill I was sure it's not a contam.

I could put the grow bag in a place with more heat like behind the refrigerator but then my humidity levels would greatly decrease. Also the grow bag would be exposed to light. It will most likely also flucatuate my temps since my heating baseboard is what the refrigerator is against. Is there any other affordable option to keep the growbag warmer?
