More Magaluf madness: Brits warned they are risking lives taking 'lethal' party drug
BRITISH holidayers are risking their lives taking a new party drug that brings on dangerous "zombie-like" behaviour, Magaluf police are warning.
The drug can cause severe paranoia and intense hallucinations
Flakka, an illegal drug, is being sold to revellers in Magaluf – for as little as £2.
The potentially lethal drug is said to have similar effects as ecstasy. But some users can experience terrifying hallucinations that last for days – causing intense paranoia.
Two Britons were reportedly rushed to hospital on Friday suffering from the effects of the narcotic.
One, who had been partying for 18 hours in the Majorcan resort, was "totally disorientated when he reached A&E - complaining about bugs crawling up he is nose and trying to push a stick into his nostrils to get them out.
The pair told police they were sold the drug by a dealer with a large quantity of pills.
The Majorcan resort is popular with Britons who attracted by the nightlife
Flakka, which is also known as Alpha-PVP, can even cause aggressive rages, spikes in body temperature and delirium for those who take the drug.
A Majorcan officer warned that anyone taking illegal drugs "is putting their lives at risk", labelling Flakka as "particularly dangerous".
The narcotic is found in pink or white crystals that can be swallowed, injected and snorted.
Flakka can also be consumed by smoking, but doctors warn that it gets into the bloodstream quickly if smoked in a pipe - making it easy to overdose on.
It has been banned in America following a number of dangerous incidents involving people who have taken flakka.
A kilogram bought on the street can cost up to £30,000. However if ordered online from China, where the drug is legal, it can cost as little as £1,000.
Magaluf already has a volatile relationship with Britons who flock to the resort for its popular party scene.
Authorities are desperately trying to clean up Magaluf's image after a series of controversial acts have brought the resort under intense scrutiny.

Last month, British holidaymaker Jamie Todd was found dead on Son Matias Beach in Palma Nova, a popular party destination in Magaluf.
Friends took to social media to pay respects to the popular Southampton fan.
Russell Carey, one of Todd's friends on the holiday trip, tweeted: "Devastated doesn't come close".
Two Britons were also reportedly arrested after allegedly starting a huge forest fire while holidaying at the resort.
Huge plumes of smoke were seen rising above Black Lizard island after a discarded cigarette butt was believed to have triggered a massive wild fire.
In the same month, a British girl fell 15ft off a balcony just hours after a crackdown on bad behaviour was implemented.
Jenna McAlpine, 21, suffered head injuries and was monitored overnight at the A&E department of Son Espases Hospital near the Majorcan capital Palma.
McAlpine said she was "lucky to be alive" when revealing she had to spend the rest of her holiday in a wheelchair after breaking her arm and nose and fracturing her hip.
