Lion's Mane Outdoors and Temperature

I have been trying to grow Lion's Mane and have run out of room in my SGFCs. I have very limited room indoors, and was wondering how these would do outside. The temps here are between 85 and 100 degrees, with humidity between 55 and 89. Would they do anything decent? Anyone have experience with trying to grow these in those conditions?

OK. Since I'm not seeming to get any input on this, I guess I'll take one for the team and just try it out. I have a sawdust bag cooling now after following the Lipa tek. Tonight after work I will inoculate with LM grain spawn and put it out in the garage to colonize, where temps are 85-100. If it manages to colonize, I will put it outside under my willow tree and see what happens.

Bag has been in the garage at about 90-100 degrees for 3 days, and is showing some colonization. Kind of surprises me at those temps. Will keep this thread updated.

thanks for sharing your results. I'm following along as we will be doing indoor and outdoor Lions Mane (Hericium erinaceus) in the near future. What type(s) of sawdust are you using? Much good fortune for your efforts.

I'm using wood fuel pellets. Lipa tek. The bag says "hardwood", but no specifics. I use 7c of pellets and 8c of 165 degree water. Mix well in bag and wrap in a towel. I often do it at night and wait till the next morning to inoculate or do it in the morning and inoculate at night.

Figured it was a time for an update. Temps have mellowed, but only a little. They are now around 85-95. Here are the best pics I could get of the progress of colonization. This is at 8 days. The glare off the bag made it a bit hard to get good pics.

Update.
The mycelium seemed to stall in the heat. Or at least slow to a crawl. I brought it in and at 75 degrees it took off again. I then put it in a SGFC to fruit, and got a fairly decent fruit off of it. Then I noticed that it was developing a patch of mold in it, so out the door it went. I put it on my deck and just left it in the shade. Temps have been anywhere from 75-90 during the day and 50-70 at night. I couldn't believe it when I check it on a whim and there was a really nice fruit on it. That one was about 10 oz. Now it is producing another nice cluster. After it fruited the first time, I put all my bags on the deck and have had some really good results. Much better than in a SGFC. RH has been between 55% and 98%. It fluctuates of course with time of day.

I know! I wish I could take credit, but basically nature took over and did it better.

A few that I harvested. The white one was 9.5 oz and the pink one was 3.75 oz. I am trying to take some spore prints from them, but have never done it before. I just hung them on a skewer over some aluminium foil and covered the top. I don't know if they were mature enough to get spores from, but they were starting to brown and I wanted to eat them.
