How Disturbing. What the Eff Man.

Hopefully in the future there will be a Law that states it is Illegal to do any Harm or Defacing of a plant Intentionally. Accidental is ok.

But This^ 1 year jail time Minimum.

Those plants were designed as submissive's and are awaiting a master to take them home and punish them.  :bondage:

they do all the sort of shit
they do sprinkle cactus with sparkles and coloured shit
they do the same with artificial snow around christmas
indeed they do glue those papery flowers
and they color them like that (same kind of colour that you find on the o.microdasys)

in all those cases, they can easily survive, but there is something absolutely brutal iv'e seen recently

some Echeverias completely covered by a thick layer of paint that leaves them no escape to death.
some of the common colours are black, orange, red and silver. I don't understand how people can fall for that and actually get attracted to something that totally look artificial (and actually worse than a fake plant)

people that live next to me and have the balcony sided to my balcony once bought one of those. given the south facing side, the plant got baked by the sun in 3 days, turning in a boiling mess of succulent flesh and paint.

Just clog their pours for a day so they can't sweat. They'll never touch another living creature again...

No wait, scratch that.... Cork the anus. Definitely. Try not shizzing for a week and then see what happens...  :holyshit:

IMO places like Home Depot, Lowes and other big box/ hardware stores have no business carrying Cacti or other exotic/ delicate plants. It should be left to the nurseries, farms, and other respective niche stores. Most people shopping at the Home Depot have no clue how to care for these plants anyway, let alone any real appreciation for what they are.
As for stores They're only interest is making a buck off the consumer, and since everyone wants glitter and gold, they give it. Ive been a landscaper and landscape designer since I was 20 years old. I've had people ask for exotic or otherwise unusual plants many times and refused. I won't plant something outside in summer for you when I know our winters will kill it. Why would you do that? Other than to add some "fancy/ exotic" looking palms to your little backyard tiki bar. Frickin oblivious fools man...
I would never buy plants at these places simply cause the staff has no idea how to care for them, and the idea of these stores making a profit with my hard earned money makes me sick. It's sad really. Actually I have bought a few, but it was honestly to save them from the store... Like animal rescue lol. So now I have several small indoor cacti and other shrubs that I wasn't shopping for and are totally out of place in my yard lol. It's better than seeing them in the dumpster anyway...

Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now. People's blatant disrespect and total ignorance/ disregard to nature and all it provides is simply unacceptable to me in these cases. All for a buck... :mad2:

Beautiful plants too... So frickin sad man. I don't understand why it's so hard for people to appreciate the subtle elegance of plants like these with out having to make em look like something from a Katy Perry video... Idiots.

Karode- LMFAO, thanks for adding some humor to this ugly thread! It's sad that we have to accept and /or expect that people in general are simply fools caught up in their own little world, oblivious to the reality right in front of them....

Ah well, another shining example of capitalism gone wrong :/

Makes no difference to "food-like" products consumers buy from stores... Business selling those just fucking the consumers deeply in to ass. Difference makes; Food-like products consumers eat isn't painted with spray paint. :tongue2:

It's all about money, no matter of business. I don't mind as long as no one paint my living plants. There's more random buyers keeping plant few days and only small amount of collectors demanding plants without artificial decorations to make sale.

Purpose of those isn't even mean't to live long. Just enough to give buzz of shopping "stuff" to consumer when they buy those. Many people just buy stuff they don't need, those are very good example. Seems painted plants sell better, consumers doesn't understand to demand better it seems. And those who does, they don't buy those because other business or persons sell plants as well.

I think purpose of those is just move them to visible spot as long as they are alive and then they will be thrown away.

Shit similar to that is everywhere. Price need to get down so quality have to drop in order to do so.

Consumer and Human isn't same to me, meaning human tend to think on it's own. Humans are good to keep in control big horde of consumers and make them spent money to unecessary stuff, not relevant to actual life for them. If they even understand their reality is television and screens. Humans control the consumers, even food supply. Humans do business and rip off each another till consumers keep on apathetic and spent money to feel buzz of purchase for a while.

I don't mind of those in that sense, my plants don't have paint and it's enough.

That shit doesn't go away as long as consumers don't realize it's bullshit to spent money on those. I let they live in fool's paradise...

Agreed, it's pretty sad that people find these painted plants attractive. This is a pic I took not long ago of some painted plants for sale at a grocery store. :facepalm3:

One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree.
'Which road do I take?' she asked.
'Where do you want to go?' was his response.
'I don't know', Alice answered.
'Then', said the cat, 'it doesn't matter.'

Hey I have one of those (unpainted)

I was thinking maybe they are trying to attract kids as an impulse buy. I see most kids whine and cry their way into getting what they want and it seems to work 75% of the time. Or a parent might see the colored plant as a simple/cheap decoration for their kids room.

I can't see how anybody else with half of a brain and a little green thumb in them seeing these colored plants and thinking "wow this would be fantastic next to my tomatoes."

Just something I was pondering while at work today :hi:

Man I have to admit those look good, I couldnt morally buy one now, but before I started getting weird with plants I probably would have bought a couple of those.  Most people dont realize that is bad for the plant.

My uncle raises sheep. Dirty animals they are...

BUT, maybe if I convince him to paint them shiny colors and add some glitter and gold stars he could sell them at the next festival near him...

We can put antlers and jingle bells on them like reindeer at Christmas time and sell them to kids
