Howdy yall, before I start I'd like to thank everyone who's ever contributed to this great forum, couldn't have done it with out ya! Finally my first pins growing on a Hpoo/verm/coir sub. Treasure Coast.

The pin in the last pic looks kinda like it's got some trich. should I spray it with peroxide?

No peroxide, its only for battling cobweb and will probably never be needed.
Does your jute net give better service?

The burlap actually did work out well. I just leave it covered with wet burlap kinda like a tent, and mist in there every so often.
The patch is little further along now.

Is there anything wrong with this guy in the middle. theres a brown streak running up and down the stipe and a little spot on the cap.
There's a few other pins with the same mark but it's most noticeable on this one. there's also a bit of a hole in the mark like it's decaying or something.

There's a lot of bacteria on those caps, look how slimey and discolored it is. If I were you, I'd start over and go with a mono setup.

This is your first cube grow!?! Wow. Bravo good sir.

Also, I love the burlap sack idea- creates a microclimate- keeping it wet increases the humidity even more- but doesn't really impede the FAE.
You should write up a whole Tek for this.

Those mushrooms look pretty gross. Does the patch stink like rotten apples?

They smell fine, but I did think they had kind of a strange moist look to the caps. Then again, I wouldn't really have any idea since it's only the second time I've ever seen fresh cubensis before.
Is it possible they're just really moist? the caps are really smooth feeling, almost a wet slippery feeling but definitely not slimy. I had just misted them before the pictures. They're growing pretty fast now too and I would have thought bacteria would slow 'em down

They look fine to eat,
They also have some time before they're mature, it's just improper environment.

Shit I think you gus we're right about the bacteria. I let them air out today and most of the caps turned out lookin fine but there's quite a few that turned kinda gnar. I really thought something like this wouldn't happen since it's outdoors and all. Maybe my spray bottle had the contam in it or something.

Thanks y'all! I just followed Frank's Tek's with a little Hpoo and it turned out. I've been really busy and neglecting the sack since I harvested what looked OK from the pins (there were some that didn't look so good), and Just left a dry sack o burlap laying on top for the last week. The only water that was added was a wet tea bag that I had hastily discarded on top while on a tea break during work. then this morning I removed the sack to a pretty sweet surprise
I did not know that cubensis had pink/crème colored gills
 Tiger striped Leucistic

I hosed done the sack and layed the burlap back on top again and will probably continue to leave my tea bags on top for now on. It seems like being about as low tek as possible is what got the job done right.

Take a spore print of that creme colored gill one! That's not normal!

Looks like they're not producing spores, interesting.

Got two caps on foil right now. I could see some spores on a few of the stipes but definitely nothing compared to the dark purple veil remnants on the native psilocybe species around here.

Good job sir! And yes I haven't seen cube gills like that before... Interesting- you should clone it with agar
