Looks like metabolites to me. Also doesn't look like cobweb to me. Just looks like fuzzy mycelium. Keep an eye on it to see if it spreads over the whole surface.

Looks like cobweb to me. Spray it with some h2o2 just to be sure, you don't want that getting out of hand.

I am with Eagle on this one, it looks like cobweb.

There are also large chunks of your substrate that are overly wet that may not ever colonize.

They either did not colonize because of being overly wet or something is inhabiting them.  Either way , watch them close.

Some of those chunks do indeed look overly wet.

What's your substrate? 9/10 times when people think it's cobweb, it isn't. In manure I get lots of wispy greyish white like that, my best guess is its firefang, because like you said, it gets eaten up and flushes a lot.

The way I've been figuring out if it's cobweb lately is to see if it covers the mycelium. If the mycelium is surrounding and eating through it, or if it looks like it is part of the myc, there's a very high chance it isn't cobweb. Personally to me that doesn't look like cobweb. Just looks like what happens with manure.

If you are using manure, the few areas that are wet might have a couple bits get uncolonized. For the most part though, once you're at this point, you'll expect to see most, if not all of it colonized.

I already told you what to do, which was spray it with 3 percent undilluted h2o2. I wouldn't tell you to do something that would kill the myc. h2o2 is tolerated by myc, especially hardy myc from an almost fully colonized tub.

You can wait and see how the myc and that other organism progresses, if you like.

also my last grow flushes 4 times, yeah, but this grow isn't flushing yet. but i think this problem was on my last grow. h2o2 will slow down fruiting?

Just a few sprays of h2o2 to kill the cobweb, if it is indeed cobweb. Don't spray it so much that it water logs the substrate, you ideally want that spot to colonize. If it's cobweb, it should "melt" from the h2o2 instantly.

h2o2 won't noticeably slow fruiting, but a sub that is fighting contamination will slow fruiting.

Hopefully it's just some firefang, but I don't know much about it. Like I said, maybe you can just leave it be and see how it turns out.

We need some closer shots of these spots.

This is what trich looks like before it colonizes fully and spores release.  I am not saying it is trich, but when I have spots in my tub that look like these, it usually is.

If there is trich inside of those rings, it will show it's self with in the next 2 days.  Might be worth waiting.

Looks like it is pinning!

It is hard to tell if the surface is dry or not.. You be the judge, I mist all my mono's during this phase.  Not heavy.

Yeah I see knotting. Also that is bruising. Not sure why it's so yellow.. doesn't look like it's spreading too much tho. Looks like it might make it yet lol

Yeah a light mist wouldn't hurt. Looks like some spots need it.

You pretty much want it to be glistening/shimmering with water beads all over the surface. No pooling water at all.

I like to mist from a spray bottle, like a foot or 2 above the tub so the mist falls on to the surface. You want it to fall on the surface, over spraying directly.

Get a water bottle with a spray attachment.  The finer the mist the better.  I try to only spray our 7-8 grams of water each time.  You need to calibrate your sprayer though.

Edit : to give an idea , 8 grams is 10 sprays for me.

From now on!  No more pictures or taking it out to get pictures!  Is it in a chamber, or are you just fruiting it open air like that?

Your tek sucks, to put it bluntly. You should make a shotgun fruiting chamber, exactly to specifications.

Opening it up a few times a day isn't enough. You want CONSTANT fresh air, with a SGFC provides. SGFC also provides adequate humidity.

How does the newspaper helps get co2 away?

As far as misting goes, get a mister that produces a FINE mist. Finer the better.

I had a sneaking suspicion that he was just fruiting it in the wrong chamber.

That thing is dry!!  Do what eagle said, and mist it when it looks like it needs it.

Did they look like eagles, or my signature? There's a reason everyone who used to do aquariums stopped doing them around here. There's way better, with way less work, for way cheaper.

They are fine..

I am wondering why those have not shed their universal veil?

Are they albino?

Get a meaty chunk from inside the stem of a mushroom you find most desirable, and put it onto an agar plate. Grow it out again. This way you will have more uniform mushrooms. If you cloned the white caps gene, you might just see pure white caps when you grow it out again. Take a print and regrow from spores. Repeat until your spores only produce white capped mushrooms. Then you have a new stable variety you can call your own

It says from inside the stem of your most desired mushroom. I'd recommend the base of the stem. Probably ready for harvest.

They look very dry, cubes grown in dry conditions sometimes have that light appearance. They may or may not actually be leucistic.

I had the same thought.. It really looked like the universal did not come off at all at first. They are incredibly dry though and eagle is right about the color being white due to lack of water.

Oh definitely yeah. Lol I just looked at it expanded. It does that when it's in less than 50% relative humidity. At least ime
