You can absolutrely, 100% count on the insecticide in combination with your dogs personal sensitivity causing these seizures.
Your insecticide has Fipronil as its active ingredient and this drug works on GABA in an excitatory way. In other words, the insecticide convulses the fleas to death.
Stop using this product and find one with another active ingredient, to be used after the current dose wears of.
Your dogs individual and breed susceptibility to seizures, in combination with being exposed to a convulsant chemical, caused the seizure.
If he seizes again off to the vet, your dog will respond well to valium like drugs, which will stop the convulsive effect for your dog but not the fleas.
Take it easy with your dog and don';t freak out over this.

I had grand mal seizures 2 years ago. I was blue and not breathing for about ten minutes. Apparently I wasn't dead since I'm alive now, but very near. A seizure can cause a loss of electrical conductivity in the brain or body which can lead to death if the body can't jump start itself.

Thanks, I freaked out quite a bit I thought he was dead he wasn't breathing. For now I'm not giving him any more medications I'll just bathe him and use a flea comb.

I give my dog heart guard and nex guard in these little beef flavored chews. Works 100% and haven't seen any negative reactions. My dog is a shiba inu which are very prone to seizures.

Do you take medication now to prevent seizures? Seizures are one of my biggest fear.

I had seizures due to 40 oz of rum every night & handfuls of good ol' etizolam. I was on phenobarbital for a few months and didn't like it so opted for a medical marijuana card instead. Amazes me I was allowed to get my driver's license back by way of using marijuana. I haven't had seizures since my etizolam use, but doctors say I'm more prone to them now due to the pathway that was formed in my neural network. I also have my dog registered as a service dog now. I can tell if I'm getting near a seizure too. My speech stutters really bad and can't be corrected no matter how much I try. I can then take measures to reduce my stress and smoke up immediately.

I was more calm this time and just let him lay I hate that he goes through this. I got him out of the bath and started drying him off when he let out a big scream so I played him down and he flopped over and passed out.

Poor dog try giving him some low thc/high cbd oil on a treat. It's better than giving him barbs or benzos. He needs something though.

I'm gonna get him to a vet, but I've read about the drugs they give these dogs to prevent seizures actually ends up killing the dog instead of the seizures.

Forget the vet and just go to a dispensary. Vets are total morons and don't make enough money to survive, so they cater to shitty sales reps who give them shit tons of free samples for pushing their shit products. My mom took my cat in to the vet a few weeks ago when I was in Colorado because he had pulled out his fur. He has an anxious habit and she didn't know this. The vet couldn't find anything but said it was probably fleas and sold my mom a bunch of flea medicine. My cats are 100% flea free and have never had one ever! They also tried to get me to keep my dog on an expensive antifungal medication which is extremely harmful for at least 6 months when she only needed it for 2 months. Vets are completely fraudulent unless you have an absolute emergency, stitches etc.

The only thing a vet can do for you is to guess a toxic medication for your dog. Herb is not going to hurt your dog and will most likely solve his seizure issues. The vet is not a neurologist and for one to treat seizures is an obvious fraud, but vets don't have to have the same credentials as human doctors.

From what I got from Wikipedia on Fiprinol. "In animals and humans, fipronil poisoning is characterized by vomiting, agitation, and seizures, and can usually be managed through supportive care and early treatment of seizures, generally with benzodiazepine use."
Think its the flea medication? Or just a coincidence.

There's no telling without eeg readings over a week or two. Your vet can only guess, and in my experience they hardly even try to make an educated guess.
