A new field and stream opened up in my city today. Im going to buy a "Ready to Shoot" bow and crossbow today on some of their deals.
My parents got me a plastic compound bow when i was a kid. I loved that thing. Used to shoot it straight up, and try to dodge/catch the arrows as they fell back down. Oh stupid kid days. Its a miracle that im still here.

Heck nah. Not yet at least but I hope to one day. I've always wanted to learn. I should have asked my last step dad to teach me. He actually went hunting with one every year and got a few deer with em.
I'm going to txt you when I get outta work!!

Fucking Field and Stream. Leached me of ~$900 today.
Got me a really nice bow, and RTS crossbow. Gotta give it to them though, multiple people spent ~3 hours with me, accessorizing my bow, and teaching me things i didnt know or know how to do. A good hour of that was spent on the range, sighting it in, so im hitting dead on.
Bout time i stepped up my bow game. Now its time to get some water arrows and go fishing.

Yes! I love archery. Actually, I love anything related to marksmanship. I have a Bear brand compound bow that has a 50lb draw weight and I have a handmade longbow that has a 55lb draw weight. I've been shooting since I was a kid. Like most of you, I started off with a plastic bow with a pretty light draw weight.

Glad you got someone to actually set the bow up for you. When you buy a compound bow you really need to have it custom tuned to you.
If you are going now fishing there are two options for reals. One that uses a plastic container to hold the line and one thst uses an attachment to use a regular fishing real. My friends and I use a mixture of the two so it really comes down to personal preference. I will saw in the long run you might want to buy a second bow to use exclusively for bow fishing. You can get a newish bow from a pawn shop a discounted price for this.

I know this thread is somewhat dated, but this sub forum piqued my interest. Hello fellow outdoorsmen.
I have a Bear Kodiak recurve and a P.S.E. BRUTE compound.
I always enjoyed the recurve, but one day I tried a pals bear modern compound. I was amazed how far compound bows had come. Insane accuracy. It felt like cheating. I had to have one asap. So, it picked up the pse brute. I also picked up a "spyder target" that makes pulling arrows a breeze. Its a pricey set-up, but its pure joy.
I love to wake up at the crack of dawn, sneak out of bed and make a hot cup of coffee. Then, head outside to my makeshift range and sling some arrows. Its very peaceful.
