Three species, please help
    #21966255 - 07/19/15 05:13 PM (8 years, 6 months ago)

I went looking for stinkhorns in a nearby state park this afternoon and found these instead.

Species 1 and 2 were on the ground in the a wood comprising mostly oak, holly, and pine. Species 3 was on a path next to the woods.

Species 1 - About 2.5" tall, side stem, tough woody feel, reddish brown stem and cap.

Species 2 - Cream colored, about 4" tall, never seen anything like this.

Species - Amanita Russola maybe? About 2.5" tall, stem white and widening toward the bottom, warts, cap reddish brown at center and then buff to the rim, ring on stalk, partial veil still over gills and you can see cream colored gills through a tear in the veil.

Thanks!

1. Ganoderma curtisii
3. Looks more like Amanita amerirubescens

Any more shots of #2?
