Not really sure you'd consider them psychedelic rock, maybe some of their tracks specifically, but I listen to a fair bit of Ween.

I love it!
Of coarse theres the grateful dead, further, Phil and friends, ratdog, Jerry Garcia band, the other ones, etc...
Then there's bands like hidria spacefolk: http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=Gi7-SckuVto
http://m.youtube.com/?#/watch?list=PLuVlAHT-36zH9lQ1z9Rr6mBnU1gmKZoHo&v=XQxFAQVVE2A
Great stuff!
Then there psychedelic-hip-hop that's lyrically just as good as the psychedelic rock:
Eyedea-first born
Oliver Hart
http://m.youtube.com/?#/watch?v=6bBlLCQV_h8 Lucid optics
I'm also really into to psybient stuff, but I'm not going to list that stuff here, that's probably a bit too far from rock for this thread...
Then there's psychedelic rock like tool, and a whole bunch of bands that sound like tool like colour haze or atomic vulture
Then there's your classic 60s, like big brother and the holding company, Janis Joplin, Hendrix, Bob Dylan, etc...
All pretty cool stuff...

Ya ya it's good stuff. My favorite "psychedelic" rock band (I don't really consider them such but most others do) is Spacemen 3, fucking amazing band.
Plenty of other great stuff in this "genre" (it's all very different); 13th Floor Elevators, the Doors, Love, the Red Krayola, Gong, early Floyd of course... blanking on other stuff but it's one of my favorite styles of music.

Love psychedelic rock. Been listening to Hendrix and Floyd since high school, and I absolutely love both, as well as the Beatles, Jefferson Airplane, Big Brother and the Holding Company, and stuff thats less psychedelic maybe like the Who and the Stones and David Bowie and a lot of garage and proto-punk stuff. As for the Dead, I may play "American Beauty" once in a while, mostly for "Friend of the Devil", but I don't really consider myself a big Grateful Dead fan otherwise, too noodly for me, not enough soul. There are exceptions to be found buried under miles of meandering guitar solos, of course.
Lately I've gotten into the more obscure stuff, like 13th floor elevators, one of my favorites. Easily could be considered pioneers of punk rock as well as psychedelic rock.

Don't know if you've ever heard of Oziric Tentacles before, but they are really good psychedelic rock. Check out this tune from their new album:

I love this video, Kevin Parker is a genius
He writes all parts himself and plays everything on the albums, then teaches his band later so they can do the shows. It's all inside him... He's one of my favorite musicians ever, up there with a lot of guys from the 60s and 70s. He really has a vision and knows how to translate it so that everybody can understand What a musician

yeah he's a real good musician. only thing that bugs me about him is his voice sometimes. too lohn lennon like, and i'm not a huge fan of the beatles.
