Tub with two uses

Right now we have an incubation chamber setup and ten total jars colonizing rather quickly and well.

Some may reach the fruiting point sooner than others.

Is it possible to separate the chamber (which is at 80-82 degrees) and have a small, stackable side for colonizing jars (2 jars wide), and use the remaining large space for fruiting (using perlite for humidity!). I'm planning on cutting a piece of a plastic for seperation and then using a non-toxic, water resistant sealent to seal the spaces so no environment could leak into another (so no humidity leaks from the fruiting chamber).

Suggestions? Ideas?

You could but it will really slow things up! Mycelium grow really slow at cooler temps, so what you need to to is place your fully colonized jars in your kitchen refrigerator untill the other ones are ready.

I would just wait until the ones that are behind catch up, leaving a few fully colonized jars for a few days wont hurt them at all. The way i see it, is that this will help the mycelium to colonize the middle of the jar.

How long can we leave fully colonized jars in the incubator? How many days do you think?

there was a post on here where a guy had jars that were atleast 5 weeks old after they had fully colonized i beleive.  Mycelium was comin from the holes in the jars :smile:  I think you'd be ok to leave em in there a little longer.
