I have made a lot of mine wilt by moving them into direct sun to quickly, that was in the summer heat though
Once they get used to it they can definitely handle a ton of sun though.

Ahhh, okay. These peres were in full sun prior to being grafted so thats ptobably why theyre doing pretty well without losing any foliage. I bought them as 4 rooted cuttings on ebay back in May. It's crazy how fast they grow, I've already got 30+ cuttings rooted from the 4 I bought not even 6 months ago.

It is super crazy, you can clone the shit out of them!
See I have most of mine indoors under a light so that makes sense indeed.

I think it might vary a little bit from place to place about how much light they really like. I hear a few people saying they go with full sun, but I find mine do better when they get afternoon shade. They grow fine in full sun, but I find they seem to grow slower and they tend to grow a little woodier and have that 'hard grown' look to them instead of the nice supple growth I like to see...

I've definitely seen how woody they get. If you pinch the root stock on the bridgesii and san pedro its as hard as a rock.
I was originally going to ask if I should put them into dormancy over winter, but I am probably buying a growtent and hps and mh for my salvia/novos/other plants would the hps or the mh be better for the growtent?

IDK really. I don't have any experience with those fancy light setups... All my cacti as well as grafts will just be put into dormancy. I think I might try to keep some of my peres going inside under my flouro tubes... But I have way too much to keep them all inside, so the remaining peres will be side by side with the columnars.

I did some debating and decided I'm gonna run the MH. The HPS would have probably been better for the seedlings, but they'll be fine underneath the MH since it's similar to flouros. The salvia will thrive underneath that MH and the grafts as well. The novos I'm actually going to put by a window that gets some light. I'm kinda excited for it. My plan is to get a fairly good sized grow tent so that I can put all sorts of stuff in there eventually. I'm getting a 1000watt ballast and bulbs and putting my seedlings and grafts in it. My salvia wiill be in there too, and in spring I'll starting my first outdoor cannabis plant in it before transplanting outdoors I think the MH @ 400watst will be enough for all of those

I agree with your decision to just keep the novos by the window. They don't need/like a whole ton of light. They are very happy just being near a nice window.
And get us a pic posted to see when you get the setup going!

Damn , my novo died from a few hours outdoors in the shade . I'd definitely monitor how much sun it gets because it Probually works better as an indoor plant

Lol damn, did you acclimate it first? My novos have been outside their whole life so they're doing pretty well for their age. I keep them in one of those mini 5 tier greenhouses.

No acclimation , basically the novo just arrived and went outside while I went on a bike ride .. I come home and the novo is wilted so I bring it indoors and set it where it gets indirect light. Keeping it in a humidity dome(plastic bag) and Using a spray bottle to water it. The next day I took it to my friends house who was growing indoor veggies and after a day novo died. I guess where I live gets intense sunlight. Its 100 f' right now

Update since its been about a month and a half since the last picture:
The grafts have been moved indoors into a grow tent with a 1000watt MH. My seedling grafts didnt do well at all, out of 10 probably 2 or 3 have actually taken. Its okay I have plenty of seedlings that I can use to have another go at.

Lol, you like that? I have lots of stuff growing in this tent. Chia cuttings, apple tree seedlings, various tree seedlings for future bonsais, all sorts of ethnos and cacti seedlings and mature cacti as well. Ill be growing pot in it soon enough once I put a bunch of the cacti into dormancy except seedlings and grafts.

ALL my adult cacti get as much sun as possible - I don´t mess with artificial lights EVER - that is what they get in habitat and it´s FREE !!!!
Nobody ever grew a mother like this on a graft under a fluoro or a LED.
