The warning, delivered to a private meeting of the utility industry’s main trade association, became a call to arms for electricity providers in nearly every corner of the nation. Umm the government subsidizes the greentards. We need fusion. Electric utilities are actually subsidizing solar by buying excess electricity. Here in the northeast it is pretty unfeasible

The main problem isn't that healthcare is for profit the problem is that the insurance system is for profit.
However, people who think that healthcare responds to normal market forces are delusional. Normal market forces only apply when both parties are free to exit the marketplace. When you are sick or dying you aren't in a position to "shop for a good price" and wait until there's a better price. Who fucking price shops when they are bleeding out. These market based Solutions that conservatives think will bring prices down are immoral because they don't work. Any idiot knows this. Healthcare costs should be regulated by the government. If you don't care to be paid a fair price you don't have to run a hospital or be a doctor.

Absolutely. Theres just no way you can get a gigawatt sized power plant on a small surface area near every major city and be cost effective and safe, like with fusion, once we get that working.

It's obvious there's no normal market forces because hospitals don't even advertise pricing. That never happens in anything that even remotely resembles a free market.

This is not a local thing. This is species survival. Eventually the fossil fuels will run out. Uranium will run out. All the other shit is crap. Fusion is the only real hope

I'm skeptical about the fusion thing. There are certainly more feasible way to produce energy on different scales. Wind turbines, hydroelectric and geothermal power, Maybe even solar power for larger scale stuff, and we're getting better at synthesizing liquid hydrocarbon fuels for smaller scale stuff. The only problem is that none of that stuff is cost effective compared to oil, but that won't be a problem for long. Practically useful fusion power doesn't even exist yet (unless you count solar power), and it may never be practical.

Not really. Maybe 50 square ft. Idk kinda hard to judge. But, the electricity required to recharge an electric vehicle is barely noticeable in an electric bill. Maybe $10 a month. The major cost is A/C and of course that is going to coincide with when the solar panels are providing the most juice. I wouldn't be surprised if he saves $100 a month in summer.

He's got you there, Koods. A government would totally bail out a newspaper if that newspaper happened to write in a certain way, you know? Not saying that happened, but...
So anyway, Asante, how about them insurance companies going for a power grab here? Pretty concerning, right?
