What should I do next? - minitub

Hey guys, This is my first time doing and I've done in a funky way, I'm trying to do grain spawn on a mono/mini tub
It seems that my jars are fully colonized (with some metabolites). I haven't measured anything and I put vermiculite inside the grain jars, which was recommended by some people and apparently when I posted here people got surprised. Basically I ended up with 4 jars, which I believe is a pint / 16oz with 75 mixed substrate, and this substrate has 70% wheat berries and 30% vermiculite. They are being stored in the SAB box because I thought it was loosing water, but now I see that I should have stored them outside.

Now I need to put them in a minitub (I have only 4 jars so not a lot of substrate). I was trying to follow this technique but I'm not sure about quantities:
Questions:
1-Which tray size should I buy? do I need to make holes on the sides or just on foil? does the tray need to be dark or could it be transparent?
2-I have coco coir and vermiculate, what would be the proportion of that compared to my grains? so right now I believe those 4 jars represent 2 full pints of substrate. I have only another 5 jars that are not being used to pasteurize the casing

OMG! dont follow that video the kid wouldnt know contams even if you shoved it up his face.
no foil, no holes in a tray, dark that is ancient info man. and didnt you start by saying you want a monotub?
frankhorrigan does monotubs real nice. he has great write ups. your jar looks bacterial, and 30% verm is just 30% wasted space.
IDK how large you jars are, measure them or something and I'll tell you.
damion5050 has a tek called my elementary coir tek, aka the bucket tek, just do that and mix in a monotub like frank does.

oh lord, I knew I shouldn't have watched the rest of that video, he fruits trays in an incubator
frankhorrigan, transcendinglife, spitballjedi all have very detailed write ups on how they do their everything, stay away from offsite info and enjoy!

And the grain jar you included a photo of isn't 100% clean either.
The methods in that video are

I think I would need a minitub instead of a monotub right?
These are my jars: http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/regular-mason-jars-500-ml-0422524p.html I just measured and confirmed by pouring water on a metal graded recipient, these jars are 500ml. By my calculations I have 1500 mL of mixed vermiculite and grains, and more or less 1 liter / 1000ml of grains
I don't think I can do the bucket tek, I don't have enough grains for so much casing. Can't I cut the coco coir?
What I liked about the youtube guide was the fact that he put the casing in a jar (easy to measure) and to pasteurizile in a pan

you dont have enough grains for that much bulk sub just cut the bucket tek ingredients in half.
4 pints = 2 qts but as you said you got lots of verm in yours. I'd probably do 2 mini monos, at about 20-25 qt size.
pastywhyte has a great mini mono writeup!

It seems too big for the grain content that I have no?

"My 20 quart mini's are pretty short, about 8.5". But I only have a 2.5"-3" sub in it. Enough to do 2 quarts spawn and 3 quarts sub for a 1:1.5 ratio"
you probably wanna use a high spawn ratio like that since you got some bacteria, use all 4 jars in 1 mini mono.

I still have some questions:
1-Can I put a mini mono tub inside a larger container? the one I showed on the second photo
2-Do I need to hydrate the grains before mixing?
3- Can I use any type of filter in the box or does it need to be polyfill? what's the reason behind polyfill or not a different filter?
So here's what I'm going to do, please confirm the steps!
A-Buy a tall container with 20 quart like this: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21032606
B-Make 6 holes and cover with silvertape. Add plastic on the bottom (why this?)
C-Mix and pasteurize half of the bucket tek
D-Add the first layer of spawn (cococoir+vermiculite) inside the mono mini tub
C-spread the grains, mix with the spawn, then cover with more spawn so the grains are not exposed
D- close the lid of the monotub. Wait 10 days,
E- remove the tape and put polyfill
F- Fruit?

1 it will only limit the fresh air coming into the tub. a mini mono is a stand alone fruiting chamber. a dub tub is 2 smaller tubs often shoe box sized/shaped where one is flipped and put on top of the other.
2 optional
3 polyfil is good because its not organic so shit wont grow and its easy to adjust to allow more or less fresh air. any ball of polyester is good. you find it inside stuffed animals and pillows.
B yes or 4 holes. its explained in the link in A. the plastic is a liner it prevents side pins and eases harvest.
D&C just mix the grains and substrate(coir+verm) evenly. adding more substrate on top is optional.
D (2) wait until surface is 100% white not some set no of days.
E yes that's fruiting it!

I also saw that this guy had a group of 6 small holes on one part side of the container, is this necessary?

Why don't you type in monotub tek and do some research? You've been given insane tips. Dub tubs and monos. To check out frankhorrigans, pastys, and spitballjedis stuff. I know you can do it, since we all who are answering your questions have.
P.S. 6 holes? What are you saying? Just go find a tek or a few!

I've done Mad season, I apologize.
Things might make sense for you guys that are already experienced, I see that you have over 3k posts. The problem as newbie is that these way too much information to digest, and all of these teks use jargon words and most of the time they are incomplete. So for ex people asked me to check pastywhyte stuff, I went to his topic and it only talks about a fraction of what needs to be done. Example number 1, it's not clear what is the size of these holes in the box.
There reason I'm asking for some many question is that I'm trying to understand why I need to do certain things and confirming the steps. A lot of information I checked on the internet is contradictory. Example if coco coir comes compacted (through a process that would kill bacteria) why do you need to pasteurize, and if considering that this is not true, why do pasteurizie coco coir and sterilize if endospores survive temperatures that are higher than pasteurization why people are not sterilizing? so I would not like in getting into these details, but this forum is great for people who are already used to the processes and community, but not so much for newbies. But you guys are great and thanks for all the responses!

"Given the size of the tub I still use the same size holes as I do for the larger mono's. 1.25" is my go to hole saw."
from the mini mono tek you posted.
